Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

After more thought, here's why I haven't been completely blown away by that last trailer - the bone-crunching Batman fight choreography is EXACTLY what we should expect from a Snyder film. Also it's not enough to make me forget the crap they've already shown, mostly from the prior trailer. At the end of the day, if the film can deliver 3-4 great fight scenes (Smallville battle in MoS or better) and the story isn't eye-rolling bad (say, on par with MoS), then I would consider BvS an improvement over its predecessor and at least moving in the right direction. 2 of those great fight scenes better be armored Bat vs Supes and the trinity facing off against you-know-who.

C'mon. You gotta admit. The look on Supes face when Bruce holds and maintains that, block. "Priceless".

Batman must have figured out some kind of magic spell that jams a room full of bad guys' guns :lol

I'm pretty sure he throws out little electrical jammers/bombs, that's why all the guns are sparking

Overall that Bat-action is worth the ticket alone. Bruce and Alfred's conversation is spot on and Diana looks awesome. This trailer definitely amped up my hype for the movie.

I'm officially interested in this now.

Still hate Jesse Eisenberg.
Imagine how much better this trailer would have been with an intimidating Lex Luthor.

Amen, brother. Why they chose him to play Luthor will never make sense to me and I can only imagine how much better the movie might have been if they would have used someone like Bryan Cranston, Mark Strong, **insert random bald bad guy here**. ;)

I was a vocal opponent of Affleck as Bats when it was first announced, but I have to say it's looking more and more like I'll have to eat my hat on that one. He looks absolutely badass and is most likely going to be the best thing this movie has going for it. :thumbsup

Gosh darn that Batman fight scene was amazing! I was stoked about how agile and fast he was, and then we hear him say he's slowed down over time :eek The music was THE best, that just put the icing on the BAMF Batman cake, simply cannot wait for a Bats solo film!

Wow now that was a good trailer (especially the batman fight scene). Now no more footage plz and just bring on the release!!

Now that's how to do a trailer.

I wonder if they simply fired the folks who did the last one and hired someone new. That's what I would have done.

Great... Another trailer ruined by Jesse Eisenberg. Love everything but his scenes once again. I have tried, and still will try to give him a chance, but man.... This is just an astronomically bad casting choice from what I've scene.

The Bat fight scene was definitely amazing. I can't wait to see Ben.

A buddy of mine had a great idea. He said maybe before the movie's release they can go in and erase Eisenberg from every scene and then put in a real villain with CGI. Couldn't be worse than actually having his annoying depiction of Luthor in the film.

This is the first truly positive thing I've seen about BvS.
Until this very moment the ads, announcements, leaks and promotional materials have pretty much been misses.

Word is that WB is very disappointed with the film and reactions from initial screenings. They may throw the bank at Affleck to try and get him to do a standalone Batman film next, and shelve Justice League while they try to figure out how to adjust course. Makes complete sense based on everything we've seen - this movie looks like it was a chore to put together and it'll be a chore to sit through it.

Yeah I'll take that with a grain — a rock actually — of salt, the original article on hit fix is nothing but speculation ... Some time ago we had the exact opposite info, saying a bunch of WB execs saw it and loved it I believe. I'll make my own opinion and see what's WB's next move but from what I'm seeing they have a proper summer blockbuster on their hands. The action alone seems like it would draw quite a few people in, especially if it's always at the same level of that batman fight we saw on the last trailer !

Yes, a movie which has been practically done(at least all scenes have been in place) for months now is suddenly making WB worried. Despite the fact that WB just went on national TV and premiered a special detailing the Justice League movie and it's future DC properties. Despite being 5 weeks into pre-production for Justice League. Despite Henry Cavill posting pictures saying he is working out for Justice League they are totally gonna delay it. The report is bull. Ironic that it came out the same day as a well received trailer did isn't it? Even if WB is worried about BvS they sure as hell aren't delaying Justice League. I mean they have seen dailies for this movie for over a year. Why give Snyder JL1 and JL2 and have Chris Terrio also write JL1 and potentially JL2 if they weren't satisfied.

WB execs: "Will Batman be in it? Okay, nothing to worry about, seat will fill themselves!" I think they have full confidence in their future lineup, this is how rumors spread and readers take it as fact because its a popular rumor. If they had any doubt in JL, they'd have pulled the Justice week promos, the doubt doesn't start weeks before the extended universe kicks off. They have Bvs and Suicide Squad this year, one film features Batman, the other features The Joker. If they had doubt, it would've been a MoS sequel, and mmmaybe a standalone Batman film instead of two ensemble films in one year :thumbsup

I think they should have followed up MoS with a stand alone Batfleck film and then built to Justice League the way Marvel did with The Avengers. It makes no sense to throw Wonder Woman and Aquaman in BvS and then give them origin films after that. Kinda shows that DC is just throwing poop at the wall and hoping something will stick. Honestly, I had no interest in this flick until I saw the new trailer that came out the other day, but now I'm so intrigued by the Batman portion of the film that I will almost certainly see it....I'll just have to get up for multiple bathroom breaks every time Eisenberg is on the screen. ;)

Wondering why they would have made the decisions that they made months and years ago if the screenings that just happened truly delivered disappointing feedback makes no sense. Drew McWeeny's WB sources have been pretty reliable, and he's not the only one talking. The people saying it's not what they hoped have less skin in the game than WB execs who gushed about the project halfway through - you'd really defer to a dated report from the people who told us how much we'd love Green Lantern over recent reports from pretty good sources? The word is even that Batman works well, and they're hoping he can carry the universe while they make adjustments, so no one's even disagreeing with what you guys are liking about this trailer.

Is it just me? Are you guys really seeing a lot to like out of the Snyder DCU? This whole endeavor looks well thought out, the tone and treatment is clicking for you? Man of Steel was a great start to a Superman story?

I agree not to pass judgement until release but that highlighted bit just made the assessment worthless.

I think it was a deliberate and smart move not to mimic Marvel too closely or else they'll be seen as more derivative than they need to be.

Months of rewrites only tell me that it's a screenplay written by committee - a very large committee.
