Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

The meeting of Batman and Superman for the first time on screen is a pivotal moment in fan history and they should have kept the scene under wraps. But through all the teasers and trailers we've seen their meeting and confrontation in so many ways that the moment likely will have lost all its impact for me in the theater. Warner/DC please stop showing us new crap. You didn't need to generate buzz. The best thing would have been to show us NOTHING. I guarantee we would have been a lot more excited and impressed.

Feels really unnecessary. We've already accepted the idea of a world where a pair of glasses makes you un-recognizable. No need for silly-voice. if anything it creates an inconsistency that makes harder to suspend disbelief, not easier.

So...petition for Frank Oz to voice Batman, then? :)

You may not need to see anything to get you to see the movie, but these tv spots and trailers aren't meant only to get the fans into seats. They're meant for the general audience who are on the fence about seeing it.

They've already set the precedence in the movies that Wayne disguises his voice when he's in the Batsuit. This is just a different version of that.

But not in a movie that also had Superman - I think that's his point. If a pair of glasses can make him unrecognizable, Batman's mask should be enough.

On the whole "glasses to disguise identity" deal, I've just always my own unofficial made-up reason for it. That being that Superman (or Supergirl) have something in their aura that just doesn't let the average person see through the disguise. Not really like a mind trick--more of a "what we the audience see, is slightly different than what the in-universe people see".

One thing Ben Affeck has going for him. He can't possible be worse as Batman than George Clooney, :) He can be the second worst Batman, but not the first, LOL.

There was a movie with Batman and Superman before this one? :confused

I still blame Schumacher for that p.o.s. far more than I blame Clooney. Besides, Clooney was barely in the movie; Alicia Silverstone's mustache got more screen time than he did. :rolleyes

Clooney could've been good. Not his fault script was....I lack an adjective suitable for this.

He still remains one of only a couple of actors whose career actually survived that steaming pile of garbage. Alicia Silverstone is a good example...most of us had a huge crush on her and she was pretty much never seen or heard from again.

Even Arnold stank in that film...a man who could make a cinema classic of scripts where he barely said more than three words at a time, and even he couldn't rise above the unholy stench of this movie.

I think it makes perfect sense that Bruce Wayne, who likes his gadgets, would use one to disguise his voice. I also prefer it to the Bale growl, which I was never much of a fan of.

Really hoping the film ends this way. If not, I think it would be a tragically missed opportunity.

I really hope in the Solo films we'll get a little Bat voice over, but it seems less likely due to mechanobat voice.

I'd love to hear Batman's inner dialogue, sort of like a narrator at points.. It may be too comic booky, or animated for live action for some people... But I believe it could be done well.

No... that was *my* point - if we're going to accept Superman's method of disguise, there's no need for Batman to wear a mask and change his voice.
Ah, okay. Thanks for the clarification.

I don't blame Schumacher either, remember this is the man who brought us falling down and phone booth.
Maybe superhero movies aren't his thing.

Even though I believe Clooney wasn't the reason Batman & Robin was such a steaming pile, I do think he was miscast and didn't seem to have a handle on either Bruce Wayne or Batman.

The concept worked well in Dexter, and I think it would work well in the Batman movies if it was done right, but it would have to be done using Affleck's (or whoever is in the role at the time) real voice and not the Batvoice since it would essentially be us (the audience) eavesdropping on his thoughts.

i think it could definitely be done well...he is a detective...if handled right it could give it a nice noir feel.

BUT, something like that would have a huge level of difficulty, from a film making standpoint. Soooooooooo easy to screw it up and end up becoming Adam Weat era cheesy.

I think Batman uses his voice changer as a scare tactic. 6ft 4 muscle machine staring down a criminal in the dark, then they hear a growly robot! Would make for a nice thrill to see the criminal's face when getting information out of em :thumbsup

I think a small narration would work, a sort of "Justice: The Diary of Bruce Wayne" or something haha. Or Batman and Gordon have a sitdown and talk justice stories, having each one do voiceovers, like Tony telling his story to Banner in IM3
