I don't know why people are so surprised that there's corporate decisions made on films like this? Or offended even. It's a total given that that has to happen. The expenditure on this film will be massive, and the return has to be worth it for us to continue to see our characters in film.
I think the whole team up against the previous versus is a calculated move to seperate away from Civil War. Just makes sense. Here's how our movie is different guys etc.
I still think it will be hellishly entertaining, though won't be perfect. I can handle that.
Marvel have the same corporate issues, but they are way, way more established. Jon Favreau was handed a relatively small budget with Iron Man, and managed to pull things in the right direction - but I think people forget that Marvel still puts out mediocre movies with favourite characters in too. Thor didnt quite work on its own in my opinion, or Thor 2. IM2 was good, 3 was OK etc.
I enjoy all the films and will always watch and find things to enjoy with these movies. I'm trying hard to be less negative though, haha. I'm just happy that theres so many decent projects that the actual hit rate of good movies gets higher by default!
This will be enjoyable, and a good movie in its own right, just like Man of Steel had its moments - but there will be things that don't quite work too. Overall, it probably won't quite hit the heights of some Marvel properties.
But its still the trio guys! On the ******* silver screen. I'm gonna get chills.
Another vote here for Doomsday evolving. I really think it makes sense. Show us the reveal but still have something in the pocket.
