Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

sony's in the business of laying people off..so they might be looking for sure fire successes at this point....

Isn't WB a bigger multi media company? they can or should be able to handle a few more flops than sony. While I'd LOVE to see the Marvel movie writers tackle the should be lighter properties, like Arrow, Superman, or Green Lantern...I don't see it happening any time soon. That type of style wouldn't work with a wonderwoman or batman movie, I don't think. I don't see Batman quipping chris pratt like one liners ;o). and I always pictured wonder woman as kind of a bit of grittier warrior style, WW2 era type story, which is what I think the new movie is doing.

I'd love to see a james bond style adventure with ollie as arrow. trying to solve a mystery with infiltration and a tony stark style of crass sarcasticness.
None of this being abandoned on an island trying to survive nonsense that I think smallville had him doing IIRC.

I disliked everything about MOS. I have never seen a Snyder film that I enjoyed. The fact that they're trying to use this film as a set up for Justice Leagues shows me that they just don't get it. I took the money I would have spent to see this and bought the Superman BR set from Amazon.

There was dark humour in Burtons films,....so I don't think that being glum & serious is the only way

Well, the conspiracy theorist are all alive on Reddit making accusations that fake accounts are being set up to give Batman v Superman high ratings on the imdb.com

once I saw Doomsday in the trailer I had a feeling this was going to suck. I will now wait till it comes out on streaming sites or cable, HBO, Starz, etc

have you seen what is going on with feig busters? Sony is deleting genuine constructive negative comments, as well as dozens of positive comments, leaving only the ones written by ***hats. when the film fails, they can blame it on the audience. try it yourself.. go to the trailer page and see if your comment lasts 24 hours ;o).

At this point, I wouldn't put ANYTHING past studios...
there's probably a whole section of 'fake positive publicity' departments at studios these days to try and save bombs ;o)..

has anyone here actually seen it yet in general release?
I'd go tomorrow morning, if I didn't think the theater would still be packed.
I've gotten used to being the only one in a theater at week 4, and able to eat as loudly as I want without worrying about being quiet ;o)

I bet the Lego Batman movie will be a 100times better than BvS......and its in Legos!

Batman in the Lego movie was pretty awesome. That whole movie was WAY better than a Lego movie really should be.

I don't think the negative reviews will stop most fans from seeing this and liking it. From what we're hearing, there's plenty in there for the fans to like.

My problem really isn't that these movies are bad. It's that they're just pretty good, when the material deserves to be pretty damn amazing.

Number seems low.

I say this as a life-long Batman fan who has seen every film since '89 Batman in theaters. Please, save your money. Even Batman Forever and Batman & Robin were more enjoyable (which is not to say they're better).

I'm not expecting much from BvS, but it's not humanly possible that it could be less enjoyable than Batman & Robin.

It absolutely is possible. You can hatewatch B&R for the ridiculous ice puns, or Clooney playing Batman as gay, or Batnipples. The MST3K episode featuring BvS would be far less entertaining than the one featuring B&R.

Batman & Robin also at least had character, even if it was bizarre and hammy. BvS is just grim and poorly lit.

I wonder if there's a tipping point where DC/Warner approaches Marvel/Disney about a possible crossover.

Wake me when they make a Hulk vs Superman movie.
Or superman vs Spider-Man.
Hell, I'll pay TWICE if they make Superman vs Mohammed Ali! (sure, yuk it up, but tell me you wouldn't go see it! :lol)

Ok so I just got back from watching BvS. Dear God. This movie made me question who the hell is in charge to put Zack Snyder at the helm of this movie. Snyder obviously hates Superman, and thinks Batman is cool, but obviously doesnt get the damn character. I deep down wanted to like this movie, despite the fact that I am, and always have been a Marvel fan since I was a kid, but Im more Superman and Batman, and just like I said, this is a ****TY Batman movie with a little peppering of Superman. Even from a film making point of view, the editing was so awful, I felt like it was a bunch of deleted scenes cobbled together.

I would put this below Iron Man 2 on my list of awful super hero movies, and thats really saying something. I could go as far and say that I hate this movie. Especially the ending. Synder tried to cram so much into there, it was a blatant cash grab to be like "hey guys justice league is coming!". I didnt think I could hate Jesse Eisenberg any more than I already did, but ***** god. Im in shock at how bad this movie is. Dont see it. If you insist on seeing it, see it at as much of a discount as you can. Go see Cap 3 when it comes out then sneak into BvS. Dont even pay. I feel like I should have got a refund.

Im gonna go see this tonight and still have high expectations. Then again this has been something i wanted for ages to have both superman and batman on the big screen. Shame that theres alot of negative reviews out there altho i only care about 1 review and thats my own. I can get the whole being too dark thing tho and even tho i dont want it to be way too colourful like marve i would be more then content with something more in between.

If they did Superman v Muhammed Ali it wouldn't be even half as entertaining as listening to Neal Adams gloat about it on Kevin Smith's podcast. That guy is a fantastic interview.

this is pretty much my opinion on this thing from the start. While they where doing batman begins, they SHOULD have been setting up wonder woman and superman at around the same time. instead, they waited until after one trilogy was finished, did a poor superman movie after, and then when they knew a superman two wasn't going to work well, they tried this in the hopes that basing it off a poorly done comic would spring board a justice league movie and get geeks interested.

It's really sad how well marvel planned things, whether you liked those movies or not...and how poorly DC has managed things from the start.
It's non arguable that superman/batman and their entire staple are more well known than the entirety of the marvel verse....
But, from the previews alone, each marvel movie that I have no idea about character wise, interests me more than what dc is popping out.

The justice League Suicide Squad episode from the animated series was awesome. IIRC, it also had the clock king in it as team planner and strategist.
This new one with it's messed up looking joker I have no interest in what soever.

I will never understand why they don't let the animated guys, who clearly GET these characters far better than the live action or comic book guys do....be in charge of the movie division.
Imagine a live action batman beyond directed by bruce tim in full control?

there are some likeable things about batman vrs robin.

arnold looked like had fun doing freeze..and despite the cheesy lines, that came across, I think.

The Alfred and Batgirl subplot was also kind of touching..and how she discovered the cave was pretty cool.

Although Clooney as Batman and those awful batsuits...and the car just kept on getting goofier. I won't even bring up the bat credit card plug.

I''m going to see this tomorrow night. I have said before that I think it is going to be ****. I was yelled at for saying it was going to be ****. But I will go in with an open mind and then, if need be I will come back and say if it was **** or not.
