Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

I was thinking the same exact thing. I heard a description for deadpool. sex, killings and bare ass to me do not a fun super hero movie make. as well as loads of f bombs. sounds like the michael bay of super hero movies.

is that how the dead pool character usually is, or did they change it up so much it might as well be something else? re F4.

too me, it's almost like WB is trying SO DAMN HARD To say, look...we are no longer SUPERFRIENDS. this is modern day superman!

Deadpool is even worse in the comics, I thought they actually toned him down slightly. Maybe for budget reasons. And it's a pretty fun movie, it seems to appeal to general mass too.
Thing is, a non rated R Deadpool would be a complete non sense, but a Batman V Superman film doesn't need it I think. But a good live adaptation of Flashpoint Paradox, which I really hope to see one day, could very be an R, rightfully so. Or a solo Batman like Under the Red Hood. That said, commercially I don't think it will ever be a good idea to do so, not with their flag properties like JL members.

Well it's rated R for violence. I hope for its Joker flashbacks and a totally brutal Batman, branding a criminal's skin is probably the least he can do for them to stop commiting crimes. I'd love to see an R rated Batman :cool

There has been some note made elsewhere that the BvS R cut might be akin to the R cut of the last Hobbit movie. ...there wasn't a whole lot to that.

Now that they have already announced that there will be an R-rated cut on Blu-ray how many people are going to just skip a theatrical showing and wait to watch it at home? I swear, sometimes it seems like DC is being run by a room full of chimps. :facepalm

Wolverine kills people with his claws, it makes a lot more sense for there to be a lot of blood when that happens, generally speaking, Batman and Superman don't kill people at all (except when they do).

So unless Alfred swears like a trooper now, is every punch going to break a nose?

Can't believe the weakness of excuse that is required for some people to spew their bile about this film.

An R-rated (lets please take a second to remember that this is for SIXTEEN YEAR OLDS AND UP) version will be available on the Bluray. Awesome. Some extra interesting stuff to be seen. DC do some of the darkest stories I've read. And people are surprised about it? It's Zack Snyder. We've literally watched a trailer, which a lot of us loved, where Batman quite literally puts a crooks head THROUGH THE FLOOR. THROUGH THE BLOODY FLOOR GUYS. Yes, there might not be blood. But R-rated doesnt just mean "gore, gore everywhere".

Ignorant comments about Deadpool? Fair enough if it doesn't sound up your alley. But the whole character has to be done that way. It's a darkly comical hyper violent comic. And it was brought to the screen almost flawlessly. Brilliant film. But why comment about it negatively before you've even seen it, IF you know its not a film for you?

And let alone the ignorance of filming schedules and taking an article on the internet somewhere at face value, about a release that has nothing to do with the theatrical cut, which will be PG13, like we all knew it would be.

I just don't understand why people are so willing to be shepherded into their opinions so easily. Think for yourselves with logic and reasoning please.

About the only comment that makes sense is that WB have released the information prior to the release of the film. There's potential to damage an area of your audience there I suppose. Doesn't seem to make a lot of sense.

I still have reservations about the film, most of us do just purely down the fact that our expectations are absolutely insane. We want this movie to be utterly brilliant. I am genuinely fed up of hearing the usually ill founded negativity about it though - spouting the same stuff over and over because on the surface it's the basic interpretation (R-rated! Deadpool copy! Film is too full! Marvel do it the right way! waah!)

on my end of the stick, i'm always amazed people can be positive about things that, at least from my viewpoint, look like it's not going to be all that great.
and that they can keep that positivity up until they see it is a trait I wish I had. but i'm not wired that way.

for me, I liked the nolan batman movies for the most part. Begins was incredible. dark knight was a bit of a let down due to the realistic joker..and odd inclusion/killing of two face. dark knight returns was a bit more fun.

Man of Steel was a total bore fest let down for me. and everything I've heard about this film looks like more of the same, with the odd casting choices thrown in. add to that, that I think the original comic it's loosely based on is highly over rated...and boom. pre formed opinion. I think the only character WB can seem to get right these days is Batman. everyone else kind of suffers, or gets pushed into the batman mold in the hopes that it'll work. and then we never see those characters again because WB thinks 'batman is the only thing that sells, so we'll just give 'em batman'.

there are lots of kinds of people in this world. I just happen to be one of those who thinks negatively first, and if i'm pleasantly surprised later, i'll be happy about it. usually, that's not the case. normally when I get a bad vibe off something, (Bay Turtles, Feig Busters, Snookie Joker in Suicide Squad) that bad vibe is proven up to the point of seeing the thing.

I think all this started with Dracula Dead and Loving it ;o)...

You'd think we'd have guessed that from your avatar.

I'll bet the R-rated violence is Batman brutally punching someone repeatedly in the face. The scene goes on past the point where you think he's had enough. And they had to trim 5 seconds off the punching for the PG-13.

I can be openly and immensely critical if a trailer or facts stink to me. And I've been pretty harsh on BvS.
But I'm just as quick to eat my own words when I'm wrong about something. If the film rocks you bet I'll eat crow in a post.

I always enjoy reading and participating in conversations and discussions about upcoming/released movies. I do however find that more and more theres a trend for hating on stuff that hasnt been released yet. And while people can have an opinion about a trailer im pretty sure theres also people that hate just to hate. Or the "i hate it so you all should hate it" attitude.

I for one am looking forward to BvS and 2016 will be a great year for comic book movies (already started good with deadpool) and hope that all of em deliver. Even if some trailers gave me certain concerns i would have to see the movie to see how it all plays out. I just want them to finally get dc movies with other heroes...

I am at a point where I can still do this as well. hopefully that's something I won't loose.

But, then again, I also thought Howard the Duck was a fun movie...so, what the frig do I know? ;o)

.

the only times I get that far into it, is if I am so tired of things not meeting MY expectations, that it puts me into overload.
Key in Point Michael Bay Ninja Turtles. it actually pains me that people like that first movie. I can understand a little more wanting to like the second one..but that first one..my god ;o)..Hang on, I hear a mountain lion....i've gotta stop now..i'll go on a rant ;o).

I understand having genuine concerns, I have quite a few myself. I do think the movie may be more packed than they planned, and it may suffer from it. Will it? I don't know. Will I be seeing it the day it's released with the biggest smile possible on my face? You can bet your ass on it.

For someone who is a huge fan of Batman, this is already shaping up to be the best Batman we've ever seen on screen.... Perhaps not best, but the most true to the comics I guess.
I have concerns, and I am more than happy to share them, and I have in this thread.

I just don't understand how people can so blindly and rigorously HATE on a movie they haven't seen. There are SEVERAL members who have done nothing in this thread but talk bad about the movie... So why are you here?

I will anxiously await the day I can see it and when that day comes, I'll stand in line with a smile on my face. At the end of the day, this movie can be the worst thing I've ever seen and I'll still leave with a smile on my face because it's a NEW BATMAN MOVIE.

I agree. There seems to be a hate trend. Enjoy it! It's just a movie!

Now Im sure this has been said a million times but Im just getting to this right now, but I think thats the thing that bothers me. This looks like a Batman movie with a dash of a couple other elements. Im not hating on the movie per se, but Im tired of all DC stuff being Batman centric. Even Man of Steel had a heavy Bats influence with the tone because of Nolan being producer, and thinking that Superman's tone needs to be like Batman. The final trailer showed a very Arkham Knight combat sequence, while cool, is kind of annoying because of the way Batman is tossing those dudes around like he has powers. And Jesse Eisenberg is going to be the annoying factor of this movie, above anything else. The point is, is that there shouldnt be so much Batman stuff, and Eisenberg as Lex was a poor choice, and so far, the movie just doesnt look very fun. I hope Im wrong though, Ill eat a humble pie with a side of crow, I WANT this movie to kick ass but man. They are doing a **** poor job of getting me amped for it. Civil war however... I get giddy every time I watch that trailer...
