Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

Did anyone catch Affleck on Real Time With Bill Maher last night? He was, at one point, talking about the beheadings. He made a flub and said "Those idiots getting beheaded over there!" It wasn't until a few minutes later when Bill pointed out his mistake that he quickly corrected himself (meaning the beheaders were the idiots). His last words being (hands up in the air) "I DON'T WANT THE INTERNET GOING ****ING CRAZY!!"

I thought that was kinda funny.

He's probably been reading this thread, haha

I'm ok with that. Debunks the rumor that she is some kind of descendant to the Kryptonians, like some thought since the supergirl/open cryotube easter egg.

Wonder Woman Is Getting The New 52 Origin In BATMAN V SUPERMAN | Badass Digest
Also there is the rundown of her early origins for those not familiar with it.

The short video where Charles Roven confirms it.

It's real..... I don't want it to be real...

"She's the daughter of Zeus"

.....SCREW YOU!!!!!!!

Yep, definitely better than being tied to the Kryptonian heritage.

NO IT IS NOT! Vivek, do you have any idea what the New 52 origin did to the Wonder Woman mythos? It completely destroyed DC's Amazonian culture, turning them from noble warriors (and in some cases heroes in their own right) to man hating, murdering child slavery endorsing dimwits who can't even forge their own weapons and armor without selling their sons to serve in literal hellish conditions. And it turned Hippolyta, one of the rare parents of a super hero who is still alive (And also has her many moments of awesome) into a lying bigot who cares more about the rich details of her sexcapades with Zeus than her actual love for her own daughter. Yep. Wonder Woman is now an 'accident'.

Wonder Woman is the daughter of the Amazons, not Zeus. Zeus isn't even in the same mythology as the Amazons for god's sake.

*EDIT: Correction. It's the god of war that's not in line with the Amazons. Another dumb "New 52" moment.

WOW!. Simply wow, dude. I think we have gone from friendly debate and conversation to out and out rude and uncalled for. I believe what he meant (correct me if I'm wrong Vivek) and I had part in starting this debate so I feel as though I need to explain. Yes, new 52 has veered far and wide on several characters origins. I personally read and love several of the new 52 runs. Its primarily what I read so I am a bit bias, however I am not one to yell, attack, or "tell off" another member because they disagree. I believe what he meant, and what I meant as well, is we are glad that they are sticking with ONE version of the comics. Perhaps not the one you feel is the TRUE origin, but a variation none the less. I feel that it is a much better option then the previously rumored "Kryptonian" ancestor theory. It was an option that was rumored based on the open cryotube and persons own theories as to why/how another superpowered being could exist yet not have been seen yet.

Remember please, we are here to discuss debate and enjoy common interests. No need to go that direction. Whether it was directed at the articles comments or another members.

Thanks RougeAvenger81, yeah I meant instead of being associated with Kryptonians it's better she is at least having her own heritage even though it's partly based on the New 52. BTW though he is quoting my post, Jeyl's initial comments of disdain are being directed at the producers, not me.

I haven't read the New 52 comics, but read about Wonder Woman's new origin in other articles. And as ridiculous and unnecessary it is, I don't think that is really going to the whole basis when they are exploring her movie origin. But I am afraid being the daughter of Zeus will remain unless they change it for her solo movie in 2017.

I've been catching up with all the 52 comics and so far I like them. Yes, differant than we're used to but they kept the hear of all the characters.

First, I'm sorry Vivek if that came off as anything towards you. I would NEVER! Not to you man. Not to anyone here. I was so angry when I saw that video that I wanted post something that reflected my views towards WB's decision even if it was downright harsh and inappropriate in tone. One of the first things we get to hear about Wonder Woman's first live action theatrical appearance is how being associated with Zeus makes her special. The hero who was free of daddy issues can now have freaking daddy issues, because both Superman and Batman haven't drained that storyline dry enough, have they?

I still believe they aren't really going to explore her origin in this movie in detail. So better changes might still get injected into the script for her solo film.

The latest rumor flying around is the female Robin from The Dark Knight Returns. I really hope this isn't true, that was one part of the book that I truly disliked.

Apparently it's been verified that it is a female Robin and the girl they supposedly picked just doesn't' scream Robin to me. This movie keeps sounding worse and worse. Hopefully DC doesn't stop making animated movies so that these characters get proper treatment. Apparently there's also leaked info from an extra on set, who is facing a 5 million dollar fine for leaking if found out. That's an insane thing to agree to given how little extras get paid.

Jena Malone was great in Donnie Darko and kicked ass in Sucker Punch and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. She even has got the right hair color down. Some fans want to see the Batman from The Dark Knight Returns but they don't want the Robin from that graphic novel. It's understandable, as being a personal preference. It just goes to confirm the notion that sometimes (or rather all the time), there is just no winning with all the fans (including myself). It's a cesspool of endless complaints either ways for the filmmakers.

Anyone on set had to sign the NDA and turn in all cell phones and they said repeatedly that they aren't screwing around so...
