Hi all,

i really am thinking about doing this for my new project. However, has anyone else here on the rpf ever try do make one? I am referring to the grappling launcher used in the old school Bruce Timm created Batman show.

Last year I saw one being made on another site but was never able to obtain one. anyone ever try? I always thought it was a classic and beautiful piece from the Batman mythos. Thanks all, - Agy

tried getting a good pic of what i was referring to, and I found this on deviant art:

I have always wanted to see that done. We always see things from the live action movies, but not near enough from the animated series. I would love one of those and a Batman Beyond batarang.

I remember seeing the grapple on the internet. The grapple was a commissioned pneumatic piece I believe. It was made for a fan film and actually fired (about 8 feet). I have a few pics somewhere.

oh yea, they were the company i contacted about the grappling gun, but nothing came about it. I tried again recently again so who knows, i would love to get this on my display. I was hoping the person who created it would even be on this forum :).

awesome, post some pics of it if you can. does is launch at all as well? how does it work? if you ever wanna part with it, shoot me a line, i'd be ineterested. what a nice piece.

I'll try to take some pictures tomorrow.

I never converted mine to firing, but, if I recall correctly, it did come with instructions to do so.

if you ever wanna part with it, shoot me a line.

::snicker::

Also, I have one of the animators' models where Batman is holding this prop. If you decide to do this project, I will send you photos from various angles. It's probably as close to "official" 3-d reference as you can get.

No. Come on. I so don't want to ruin it by explaining it.

EDIT: Okay, I changed my mind.

if you ever wanna part with it, shoot me a line is a really brilliant thing to say. To the guy with the grappling hook gun.

Because a grappling hook gun shoots a line. So - you know - he could actually do that. Shoot you a line.

It might be ruined now, but I really enjoyed it when I read it the first time.
