Batman Dark Knight Returns comic cowl

Thanks, yep turned out about the right size and detail. Just gotta get the other million things done so I can master it :)

Thanks :)

It's not as sooth as you think once you get primer on it :p

Saying that, I have primer on the cowl, bat emblem and the fins, so on the way to being mastered :) its a big cowl though, small ears... looks pretty cool IMO

its so smooth! this is gonna be awesome and ill definitely be following this one

Maybe? But if you have a 3D printer at home it's easier to just hit the print button :)

Believe it or not, DIY'ing your own 3D Printer is (relatively) not as out-of-reach, expensive
and/or difficult as it may have been just a few short years ago.

Check out these several resources (for example) . . . .
1. ORD BOT HADRON
. . . and the MAKERSLIDE linear bearing system upon which it is based ...
. . . and where you can still PURCHASE A KIT ... though there are DIY PLANS AVAILABLE. :)

2. EVENTORBOT - OpenSource 3D PRINTER

3. BOT MILL - 3D PRINTER KIT

... to identify a few.

:cool

Thank you,

But could we please keep the thread on topic and not start talking about 3D printing. This is for my Frank Miller Batman cowl build.

Thanks

For anyone interested I have continued the pictures and info on an interest thread in the JY

Wow, that is seriously impressive work, and in service of one of the great comic designs of all time. I checked out your other pics in the interest thread. Intimidatingly impressive... I'm trying to gear up to work on a Paul Pope Batman 100 cowl and as a guy with no experience the level of work you're doing is simultaneously inspiring and completely daunting, haha!

Thanks for the compliments. :)

These cowls are my first start to finish projects too. I've been in 3D for a long time, but haven't made a 3D print, mastered and cast it till now.
