I think this is a beautiful item:

I would love to get this bag - I liked it since I saw it used in Batman Begins, and apparantly its also the one used in I am Legend. Its a really nice, vintage looking bag and the kind of style I love.

BUT this Belstaff bag is $600!! Now that seems like an awful lot of money for a bag - now I dont know enough about Belstaff and quality and so on to know whether or not its really worth this kind of money, but surely there is a way someone could replicate this bag for a fraction of the price? I'm sure I am not the only person who would be interested in something like that! Basically something that looks like this bag, but doesnt carry the hefty price tag.

Does anyone have any ideas about someone who could be approached about this? What do other people think?

Thanks for any help

Ken :)

Beautiful bag Ken. Actually, and very honestly brother, I am sure a seamstress or someone skilled at making clothing or coats (or whatever) could probably make it for less than 100$.

I just have a feeling that you are paying for a name brand on something like this.

Now, I bet you a dollar, someone on this forum will help you get this bag made - and on the cheap!

Good luck. Share photos. I would buy one, but my wife put a limit on my monthly allowance on props and replicas......:cry

I have this bag and honestly, while it looks nice, it's not that easy to use functionally. I mean, it carries stuff okay but everytime you want to put stuff inside, you need to unstrap those two leather straps and that's just time consuming and annoying.

I dunno, maybe I'm just lazy but I prefer the Indy bag where it just has those two clasps.

Give me leather and canvas, I'll do it for $30...
Belstaff does nice stuff, but it's WAAAAY overpriced.:confused

Funny. They make an army surplus copy for $600! I'll bet some Asian kids can make that for a buck seventy nine.

A quick google says;

Guess which bag costs $600? According to ever hip folks at Fashion Week Daily, the top bag, from the British Leisure company Belstaff (think Banana Republic circa 1988), is the new "it" bag.

Seen on the silver screen in the movie Interpreter by the dean of Fashionistas, Nicole Kidman, this overpriced canvas and leather bag is available at Barneys and Berdorf.

Budget Fashionistas, save $550 bucks and purchase the lower bag at Old Navy for $24.50. It looks close enough to the Belstaff bag, which looks like something I bought about 4 years ago at the Gap.

Get the Jack Bauer bag. Cost is around 15 bucks. Very functional. I have one for my work stuff , my wife liked it so much got her one as to use as a diaper bag to tote all little mans gear.

I was considering getting a Jack Bauer bag, but I I wasn't a fan of the security of the bag.

Old Navy/Gap always makes close enoughs to whatever your needs are and at a fraction of the price!:lol

I liked the Batman Begins bag, and funnny enough thought the I am Legend bag was also a cool bag to own....never connected the two though:redface

In the end, I've stuck with my MKVII for the last 5 years or so
