Basic Networking Post/Sticky?

Well, it's my 1000th post and I thought I'd put it to good use. :cool

I've noticed that a lot of questions regarding home networking/cable/DSL connections come up in the Off Topic forum. I'd like to create a consolidated post that could possibly be a sticky in the Technical Questions and Support forum that people could use as a reference.

Would this be of interest? Who would make it a sticky? Are there any sort of guidelines that I should follow for it to be a sticky?
