Barret Wallace FF VII Remake Boots

I've been in the process of making a Barret Wallace costume based on the Play Arts Kai figure for the remake. I haven't been able to find any screens from any of the released footage, and only have some high quality shots of the figure to work off of.

Any ideas what I could base the boot off of? It looks similar to some Duck toe boots ive seen, but none are so high. I may just have to completely skin a pair of boots with foam and build it basically from scratch. The ankle joint kinda obscures the flow of the boot for me, so I don't know exactly how that portion is supposed to work.

I would build your boot up from scratch and then wear them over sourced boots. I’ve done similar things in my Ant Man, Sith and Dr Doom builds. I use headliner foam and 2-3mm craft foam layered with fabric and faux leather. I need to do the write ups for the boots on Ant Man and Sith, but here are a few pics and the Dr Doom write up is on here.
