In the STAR WARS CELEBRATION SPECIAL banner ad there is a flying man.

He is not from Star Wars, this is from a old (1930) Pulp Magazine cover.

And he is NOT Buck Rogers as many have thought.

This is a drawing of Dr. Richard Seaton testing his Copper Atomic power rod from the very far reaching Doc E.E. Smiths 1928 (yes 1928) Book "The Skylark of Space"

Doc. E.E. Smith wrote 4 books of the Skylark stories and is also known for his "Gray Lensman" stories.

They are a little cheesy, but in the Forth Skylark book our hero is moving planets from one Galaxy to a third Galaxy and placing them safely in orbit, while moving other worlds and suns from the second Galaxy into the first Galaxy to destroy planets of evil aliens..

And he has built the powers and tools up in three books so it is believable…

I wish someone would make these into a TV Show….

Of course the nudity would have to be covered up…

I read the Skylark series when I was little. Had no idea the books were that old. Wasn't one Skylark an immense ball shaped object, like a small moon?

Yes, to house the control rings of their drive and projector.

Bruce Wegman, a early maker of Trek props actually built a glowing "lens" that he wore around at cons, back in the day.

Rich, you were around back then, did you ever see it?
