That sucks. I've talked to that guy always seemed cool.

Hopefully this will bring out some answers in the next few days. Who knows... he may have had his wife or friend pop on his account to see what the word was and is thinking of a response.

Anything is possible. But at least the mods will be aware at this point. If he pops up and it was something unavoidable... then that's just life.

If it was on purpose.... going... going..... gone. :thumbsdown

I do not know if the mods know yet but I just had a PM from him saying he would be away until next Monday. I do not know why he has not answered anyone I hope he is on the up and up. But I will post info as I get it .. Hopefully next Monday I can report that my stuff has been sent.

Why can he log in, PM you, yet not put a simple post to ease everyone who feels like they are being screwed? If he logs in here and does not respond, to me that is fishy. All it would take is communication to give people some confidence in him, IMO.

I have a feeling that he sent the items but didn't pay for tracking on them and is just hoping that if he waits to respond, the items will have been delivered.

Like I said I am clueless as to why and understand why it makes it suspect. He said he was going through family issues with his mom and I will leave it at that (if he feels the need to share any more info on that that is up to him). So I am not defending/making excuses for him just sharing what I know.

I agree, I've been talking to him for a while and he seemed like a great guy, from what /i understand, his work takes him away from home for extended periods of time and sometimes he has things shipped out by family, IMHO I think that he is probably doing what Jedifyfe has suggested, though not a smart choice, I hope he makes some better ones soon and puts us all at ease.

He has items that people sent him in good faith.
Nobody has received anything.
He told me my things should have been here two weeks ago.
He has logged in, is aware of this thread, know's he're PO'd, yet doesn't reply.

In my book that spells thief and liar. :angry

I'm being optimistic....I like Boomer a lot, so i am giving him the benefit of the doubt.......the guy is pretty funny and it would be unfortunate to lose him as a member over something like this.......

i guess we have to wait and see and play the waiting game.....

I know this has happened to funky plenty of times which is unfortunate to him as well......some members have come through, but others havent.....hopefully, we can place in the "have" file

I'm worried, and not just because it will ruin red paperclip threads for people and people wont get their items, but also because Boomer seemed like such a nice and fun guy. I actually count him as a friend, or at least did, we'll see what the outcome is here, so far my efforts on finding his facebook and seeing if I can't get some info are turning up nothing. :unsure

To be honest, IF Boomer doesn't come through, it will not be Funky losing out BUT me. Since it was my Red Paper Clip thread that started this, I will return Funky's 1966 Batman items and I will have nothing. So it technically affects both of us.

THAT'S not fair. You did everything perfect and had a very successful thread, one you should be proud of. It's just important to remember not to let one Chucklehead ruin our fun.

(BTW, yes, Larry, "Chucklehead" is yours...I've found myself using it a lot lately. The term I used to use was "ass-hat" but now with the baby on the way, I've adopted your term Chucklehead as it still gets the point acros yet child-friendly :lol)

LOL! I have been using Chucklehead since 1998. I use to work someone that said that. I now call people "Chuckles" but have moved on to Jackwad.

Hey guys,

I just got a pm from him, telling me that he has a close relative in hospital on the death bed. I know we have heard stories like this before, but I will give him the benefit of the doubt for now since he promised to bring everyone up to speed next week the latest.

Hope he makes good on his promise.

Please send any personal information you might have my way, since I am aiding in handling this situation.

In addition, I ask everyone to not make any comments about him being "a thief" or calling him names. That can begin once he does not make good on the deal, preemptive verbal strikes fall under the category of "respect issues".

He was a nice guy just extremely pushy when it came time for me to mail everything to him. I dont think he believed me that I sent it until I had to take a pic of the receipt and send it to him. Family problems or not, this paperclip thread ended way back in April and a simple PM or even stop in this thread would fix any doubts.
