I puraches mine from Robbinssports. They seem to be around the same size as the original. However, I think they used more than one...so you know....That old chestnut. :p

Columbia Blue BTW. ;)

my plan was/is to cast it in resin - but what would be the most desireable material?

Color me interested as well. I have a great THS weathered mask, but as far as accuracy goes, it's not spot on. The biggest problem is its proportions, it's too narrow. But other than that it looks really good.

Resin sounds good, although it might be a bit fragile depending on the type of material. The film masks were made out of PVC if i'm correct.

Urethane resin works great, the THS masks is very sturdy.

Here's mine :

J3D1,just 3 questions

1.is the mask up for sale?
2.do you ship internationally?
3.can I get a measurement of the narrow spot?

nah - what I have on hand is smooth-cast 320. I assume that should work fine. If it goes well I will make all the other "goon" masks as well...

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with mate. You did a really good jod on your Ledger bust.
Are you sure Smooth-cast 320 won't be too rigid and maybe a bit brittle for this job? But then again if you've already got it to hand go for it.
I think a high shore urethane would be the ideal stuff to cast in, but it can be a bit pricey (well over here at least).

Yeah thats my biggest problem - the $$$. I'm doing the mask because I have all the necessary materials left over from my last project. If I had to buy anything, I'd be SOL, ha ha. However, if it tunrs out as good as I hope it will, and there is enough interest, maybe I can take deposits from people to buy a higher grade resin. I'll cross that bridge when I come to it...

well about 24 hours after I started sculpting, here's where I'm at:

Far from finished, but a promising start I'd say...
