Bank Heist Joker Costume

I went to the outlet store and found only what was available online... Nothing new or old...

Anyway, they did have a small section of clearance shoes, but at my location the mens shoes were pretty picked-over. This may be wishful thinking, but if you live near one of the stores, it might be worth it to check out any clearance sales...

Also, I went to some thrift stores in the area and found a really good close-enough shirt.

Finally, a question; Based on the photos we have, what color would the jacket and pants be? In some photos, it looks grey/black/blue and in other photos it looks grey/black/brown... is that just lighting? What would be a definitive color?

I'm actually quite surprised at how boring shirts are these days, it's either stripes, no stripes, or completely ridiculous crazy crap all over the place. Nothing with just diamonds and stripes, barely anything half interesting.

I guess the thrift store is gonna be the best place to find something close, like some of you already have.

I'll give it a look the next time Im out there. Hopefull they'll have something. I'll check overstock and ebay and see if they have any older one.

I'd say that the suit is a normal grey suit. That darker blue-ish color grey that most grey suits are. You'd probably want a relativly cheap thin materialed one and just wrinkle the crap out of it.

As for the shirt, I've checked walmart online. I didn't find anything. I'll look again just to make sure I didn't miss anything but I don't think they have anything like that. At least, not anymore if they did... which is sadly the case a lot of the time. :lol
 
I think Eighty Eight used that pattern to make a white shirt. The shirt I am thinking of was at Kohl's last winter. I checked there and at Ross, but could not find it. I believe Target had something similar as well (36 Red?), but I could not find anything there either.

I have a couple more places I can check tomorrow.
 
I've been looking online at as many stores as I can think of. I haven't come up with anything yet. Knowing what to call the pattern would help in searching online, I just don't know what you'd call a design like that... :confused

That's extremely close. In fact, if I can't find anything closer I'll probably go for that. :lol

Somebody had to have taken pictures of the outfits on display, there have to be some good shots of the real stuff out there somewhere. Like a close up of the shirt pattern, the brand on the shoes. Something.

Notice that the costume had all the sunlight behind so they got to use the flash, the colours may be distorted.

Is it just me... or does the pattern look woven into the shirt? Perhaps silk?
And the shoes look... well the "weathering" looks fake. :lol
It's a good bet its an off the shelf shoe because I imagine that had more than a few pairs. But, what kind...
 
The weathering is fake. Poplular theory is they are Aldos. DSW Shoes sells a knock-off brand called Natha Studio. Check them out online, you might find a close match.
 
Yeah I know it's fake. Which lends credence to the fact that the shoe had to have been available in relativly large quantities at the time of shooting. Now, the prolouge came out with I am Legend at the IMAX toward the end of last year. December to be exact. Filming for any scenes involving the Joker at least, were most likely finished by then. That puts the time frame at pretty much anytime in 2007. So, this shoe had to be available last year at the very least, if not before.
Aldo has several very similar shoes, I've checked out their site (I need to go to the local store) I don't know how often they change their line-up though.
Point being, it can't be a very old shoe. It had to be available at time of filming.
 
It almost looks like the coat he wears in the bank heist is the same coat he wears under the topcoat - only with purple lining added.
Does anyone know the color of his blazer underneith the topcoat??
 
I don't think it's the same, the heist coat has two buttons, the other that he wears under the topcoat has three.
