Bandai release schedule

That looks incredible! Only the clearly recognizable wing-tip-engines/canons of an x-wing as the engine cores in the rear are a little bit unfortunate choice because they are to easy to identify because of the famous source . But none the less it's an absolutely incredible model!

I'm really itching to get a 1/72 Y-wing. Does anyone know if Bandai plans to produce any more?

They seem to come and go with periodic restocks. They pop up on sites like Sure Things TOys or BigBadToyStore etc.. as pre-orders every few months. In between they are hard to come by expensive. I got one back in Jan for $31.99 from Barnes and Noble web site.
you could check here to see if it available for pickup in store. ONline seems to be out of stock currently

I have seen a few pre-orders come and go since no BBTS

Best advice is keep searching, something reasonable will most likely pop up eventually

Thanks, Analyzer. Surprised its such a hard to get item, been looking out for one for ages now to go with my PG Falcon. Oh well, keep searching ;)

Yea, once things get back to normal, whatever that is, Bandai Star Wars products will probably start showing up again more on shelves and online. I've still got a few kits I need to pick up as well. Though what I want can be found online for outrageous prices at the moment. Just waiting for that normal to come back.

i bit the bullet and bought 3 of these at more than I was hoping to spend. Still, I’m glad I got them but I do hope we see another wave of Y-Wings sometime soon (can never have too many Y-Wings!). The good thing about the ones I got is that they still featured the full droids and standing figures instead of the flatties. New old stock.

There are a few i could get right now on ebay but the shipping costs to Aus seem a bit too crazy. Local hobby stores here have them listed as preorders or on backorder so hoping that means there will be another wave of 1/72 Ys from them soon. fingers X'd

Was lucky to find one in my local hobby store for $75 AUD in April which was more than the average retail price here but looking at the market now its not so bad

Anyone have any info on any new bandai releases or on the licence? In the UK Revell are due to release some anniversary kits in the next week or so, really hope that bandai aren't losing out to Revell.

Would love to see more from bandai: gamorrean guard, boush, jabba, sandcrawler, imperial shuttle and some larger scales would be nice, I'd love a 1/72 slave 1.

I semi-gave up and ordered a couple Kessel Run Kits... um... kits. The TIE Bomber that Alfred Wong originally mastered, and the Sovereign/JBOT TIE Defender. I'm going to use the slightly smaller ball from the First Order TIE Fighter to replace the solid kit cockpit. Still hunting for accurizing parts/tutorials for the FineMolds Slave I (either version). Patiently waiting to see what Bandai do next. Still holding out hope for an ESB PG Falcon.

I'm not proud at all but since Bandai stopped my almost monthly dose of a new star wars kit, I had a bit on the side to say so.
I bought a Nuclear Model R2D2-R2-D2 set of two amazing Astromch Droins online! Cheap second hand shot since someone did the import from china, the country, which brought plagiarization to a new level. Or as china would name itself maybe: Chain or Cihna :p

The kit doesn't look bad at all on the first view, but the quality isn't as good as Bandai's in detail as you might see in the close pics. Lines look less crispy and the plastic seems less scratch-proof.
I instandly disposed the smelly clear plastic bags after unpacking the molds, afraid of getting some tumors on my fingers. The only big difference is the extra clear plastic stand added by Nuclear Models to showcase the numerous additional droins' tools. Great presentation of oubiwang kennuobi's best friend is guaranteed:lol:

Since the Bandai kits aren't expensive if you order directly from Japan, I would always prefer the original. But Bandai... give fresh fooder again (TIE Bomber!)

Regardless, hope you enjoy the pics of my side trip. Small comparison of the two asian tigers.

These aren’t the Droins your looking for!

Huh. Those droins are really interesting. I figured they'd just make an exact duplicate of the sprues. But they didn't - the parts are presumably copied, but they have their own chunky sprues since presumably they don't have access to the type of injection moulding machines that Bandai use. Fascinating that they figured it'd be worth their time.

Droins. Man.
