Wow, the Fine Molds 1/48 X is such a different shape than the Bandai. I love the FM (and I have a few more in the stash), but dang, that Bandai bird is beautiful. The form just feels like one of the 1/24 SS models. The FM fuselage just looks too angular, IMO.

Agree 100%. The Fine Molds one is a nice kit indeed, but the Bandai one is in another level

Perhaps the Fine Molds can be representative of a different variant of X-Wing, such as an INCOM T-60... I've already deemed my MPC X-Wing is an ion-cannon equipped T-67 variant, distinguishable by the different nose shape and lower contour, plus thrust vectoring engines. Designed to act as an anti-fighter 'sweeper' while the proton torpedo equipped T-65 starfighters take on bigger prey.
