Bad Dread Days?

For a start i apoligize if i have posted this in the wrong section, but it's mask related so i assumed it would go here,
Ive looked around on the lair for a solution for this but i cant seem to find one,

My huntress seems to be suffering from "Bad dread days"...everyday, I used to have the dreads on this mask:

(Lil pred on the left) But then i swapped over to this mask also by usurper:

Since i swapped em over her dreads seem abit more "poofy" and "out of control" if you get what i mean? And i've been trying to re train them to hug closer to her head, that way i don't look so much like a darn head knocker!! I've tried re gluing and tying elastic bands round the mask but it dosen't seem to make much more of a difference, can anyone else help me with this problem?

Love your mask, it's neat to see a greenish color like that, it's different. Nice costume

I used a 1 inch canvas strap to tame my dreads.

Cutting the dread ends at an angle will make them hang down and not "out".
