Backer Rod Dreads

Hey whats a good length to make backer-rod dreads? I have 1"x50' of backer-rods and was thinking about making each one 1.5' giving me 33 dreads. Any opinions?

i think the norm is 20-24 inches. i think i did mine at 22"

It all depends on what look you are going for. And btw, if you use only 1" dreds you might run into a layering problem. I'm not sure what you are attaching them to. But I used 1" for the top layer, 3/4" and 1/2" for the under layers. But again, that is just me and what worked for me and the look I was going for.
