Back to the Future

Hey everyone! I'm offering the service of converting the B@M.J. BTTF II jacket into one that looks far more screen accurate (as seen in my display pic.) For more info on the price and so on please visit the junk yard:)

Came across Gus's photo of the clock, I'd love one, but again, the frame makes or breaks it for me. The one posted earlier looks like a good start, but it's not quite there. I noticed on watching the last few minutes of BTTF 3 that the frame is also quite thick. The depth gives it something. Anyway hoping it comes out well as i'd def buy one!

Re: "New" BTTF comic!

Pardon all the BTTF posts this evening. I've been watching the BTTF trilogy on Blu-Ray since yesterday and got the BTTF bug re-activated. :lol

Anyway, as most folks know, BTTF was pretty authentic with their magazines, books, etc. as far as being from the proper time periods.

We've all seen the Fantastic Story Magazine, Tales from Space comic, etc. However, while watching last night, I picked out another comic book that I don't believe anyone has ever noticed before. I've been doing a ton of researching (mostly to nail down the actual comic book) and haven't seen this mentioned anywhere.

During the first cafeteria scene in BTTF where Marty is trying to get his dad to ask out his mom - and then eventually turns into a near fist fight between Marty and Biff - you'll see one of Biff's cronies with a folded-up comic book. He flips through it as Lorraine chats with her friends. Very, very short screen time (approx. 3 seconds), but I was able to figure out the comic book name and the issue appearing in this scene.

Granted, this isn't as "iconic" (icomic? :lol) as the aforementioned comics, but, for the purists, it's another authentic BTTF item that you can add to your collections.

So for those that are interested, here you go:

Here's a grab from the scene showing the comic:

This is a comic called HEADLINE COMICS. It is issue #67 and the publication date is Sep-Oct 1954.

Here's the actual issue, just like the one used in the film:

If anyone's interested, I am trying to get my hands on a high quality scan of this (both front and back) and fortunately have a lead.

Good luck tracking one down. :)

I have some luck and find the original comic from 1954!

It is a Pala Brave Orange Crate Label showing an indian chief from Placentia, CA. From around the 1930's or 1940's. They measure roughly 9.75 x 10.75 inches.

Colorful paper labels have been used to identify products since the early 1880s. Introduced to America by European artists, this printing process became known as lithography, the first commercial art. Orchard owners used this new concept of lithography to bring attention to their fruit.

In the 1950's, the development of pre-printed cardboard boxes caused wooden crates with paper labels to be a thing of the past. These rescued labels form the remaining stock of labels available for purchase today.

Crate labels are fairly abundant, most of what you see comes from left over warehouse stock. They have been gathered up over the years by collectors and dealers. Most were stored in a dry area and the conditions are often mint and the colors vivid.

Here is one about half way down the page:

As far as I know I already have the sizes of the Tales from the space comic...

I still need some other sizes. Its not that easy, because of the Din Sizes we have here nothing looks like the original papers.

So, I dont want to spend my money in finished replicas from ebay (and I dont think they have the correct sizes, too) so I ask again:

I need the sizes of some BTTF Props, and if not correct sizes then maybe "close" sizes...?!?

- Fantastic Magazine (and because I wont find an original magazine, maybe someone got a good idea what to put in?!? Any other magazine?!?

- A match made in space novel

- Phonebook page

- Martys Letter (Envelope & Letter)

- Cusco Fax

Thanks...

- Phonebook page 8.5" x 11"

- Marty's Letter 7" x 10"

- Cusco Fax 8.5" x 11"
