Back to the Future

Hi guys,

last weekend I watched Back to the Future again and cleaned this record commercial sign today. The fonts are not perfect but best I could find.

Enjoy

Thanks, do you try dafont.com forum to find a correct font?

Dafont.com is always my first try, just like whatthefont.com, but it seems that these words are written by hand. Same with the "Worlds Leading Auto Accessory Stores" in the attached file, as older a scene, is as harder it will be finding the correct fonts.

The only way is to modify the font with ilusttator or another similar software

Just finished watching the 3rd movie.... again. And one really annoying flaw always bugs me... WE DO NOT SPEAK LIKE SEAMUS!!!

before i started working at my family's sign shop. and had my health issues i worked at a local specialty custom car garage where we did paint, interior, decals, etc... anyway we had a older gentleman come min with some screen shots and a short video of the flux capacator.! it is/was suprising easy to install. you gotta remember that wasthe early 80's and LEDs were a newer eave. now, you can make one with a rope LED and a flasher to keep it flowing "random" like electricity. with 21st century technology-it's surpisingly easy to pull off, AND hide necessary electronics....We came a long way!!!!

Did you have to quote the whole first post?

Indeed. Holocat, please edit your post and remove all those images. It makes the thread very unreadable...

Back to the Future: Fantastic Story Magazine Question

Hey everyone, new member to posting on RPF. Next to Ghostbusters, BTTF is my second all time, uh movie franchise from childhood. I'm definitely not new to talking about BTTF, its costumes, or props.

Towards the end of 2012 I got back (seriously, no reference intended) into BTTF. It wasn't just because Mattel was selling an official hoverboard "prop" toy.

Over the weekend I spent most of the day reading over the three BTTF paper prop threads. I'm thankful to the members here who have created, re-worked/recreated the iconic paper props and the less known ones from the trilogy. I use to have many of the older files, either before I moved in 2009 and bought new computers in recent years I don't know what happened to them. :confused

I never really printed much from the films. I may have to make a go of them when I can. Thank you creative, talented fans.:cool

During my reading and searching I didn't see an answer to my question so I knew I could ask here. Has anyone here ever tried to recreate the Fantastic Story Magazine Crispin used? With it being a real magazine, it might be too big of a job to take on. I'd understand if anyone did, they might only sell them.

If I had an original and I was able to scan it, I would, clean it up, (if needed) and share it on-line. It's what I and some others do with out of print Ghostbusters/The Real Ghostbusters print material.

Thanks for reading.

Thanks for the reply Moviefreak with the link to Roland's thread. I'll read his thread and as always check back on the BTTF threads.:thumbsup

Does anyone know where I might be able to get some "Plutonium Handle With Care" decals?

I have a yellow amp case that I'm going to mod to look similar to the plutonium case. It will be an homage rather than an actual replica.

Thanks for any help.

This is not a joke

try the Russian government they're selling all sorts of stuff - seriously there was a "paper Auction" not so long ago and loads of documents, decals, and posters were up for sale, so much so that the CIA put a bid in to get some of the "secret" ones - I thought that part was funny.

No offense to any Russian or American on here just thought it was funny as they were killing each other in the 80s for the same stuff :lol

Cool. I guess I'll try by getting some water slide decals. What do you think the size of the original "Plutonium Handle With Care" size was?

Difficult to say, as I have no idea what size the case is, but as you are only making an "Homage" to the film, I would just pick a size that looks correct with your case.
