So I have a question regarding the various back to the future newspapers. I have seen different threads and different topics and information about the various papers and I am kinda confused. I am just curious is it possible to still make these papers or not really?
Yes. I have made all of them, almost 100% screen accurate, except the USA Today papers.
I also provided all of the Hill Valley newspapers that were given out at 'We're Going Back' 2015. :cool
So it is definitely still possible.
I also saw a thread saying that due to certain copyrights or something that no one can make the old hill valley telegraph versions... unless I read it wrong?...
It's the USA Today papers that have the copyright issue. It's still a real newspaper published by Gannett Co, so no US based printers would be able to make them. Even the props had to be printed by Gannett for the movie. Since the Hill Valley Telegraph is a fictional newspaper I had no problems getting custom replicas of those printed by a real newspaper printing company.
My last question is, I have looked into trying to buy old blank newspaper to print on but having hard time finding it and I have also heard that you can only make these using an actual newspaper printer?...
You can try printing on newsprint paper. I don't know if you can easily print it at the correct size with any home printer. The papers in the movie were broadsheets, so they are somewhat on the larger side. Newsprint can take some work to get right using a home printer. You don't need to get older paper for the correct look, because after printing, you can put it out in direct sunlight for a few days or a week and it will age more realistically like the ones in the movie. That's the same way they did it.
