Back To The Future Part III

The Western Union letter and repair instructions (both incl. envelopes) are on my to-do-list and I think I will make them this year (I hope so).

Unfortunately I have no good images of the map and the schematics. Just auction pictures in good resolutions, but still not good enough for making replicas.

I have bad pictures of the original map from a show. I'll try to find that on my hd.

I am guessing you already have better source images for that letter and envelope. If needed for reference I can scan the ones I have. I bought the Japanese DVD set mainly to own the official prop replicas of Doc's letter and the Outatime license plate. Not sure if they were produced using original screen used props, but they appear to be quite screen accurate. Though the paper could use more weathered color look around the edges to match the screen props.

They are currently in storage with rest of my all belongings, as the new apartment where I will be staying is getting its interiors done for about three months. I can pass along the scans to you sometime in April.

I had taken these pics back in 2007.

Sorry for OT, but where do you find a good hi res image of auction?

The map I have is not in a good resolution, only the schematics. See my attached files. The schematics image is 1610 x 1056 pixels. That's not bad, but most of the text is very small and unreadable on that image.

... I have 3 maps, one is a bif over 10MB file. I don't know if it's useful, because it looks not very good... But if you like to take a look I could send you the file...

Thanks. :) If it's a scan of the original (see my attached files), then I'm interested of course. Or is it just redrawn by someone?

I have exactly the same source: the Japanese 20th anniversary DVD set. It's a very good replica and it seems to be a scan of the screen used letters, since it matches in every detail. The only difference is the size: the height is OK - it's the US-Letter size of 11 inches, but it's just 21 cm wide - that's A4 size and slightly shorter than US-Letter. But the most important thing is: The text has the correct size and it's clearly legible. :)

Cool, that's good to know :).

I dont think it's a scan of the original... File is 24MB, maybe it is useful to redraw some graphics or something...

My favorite props are from this movie. They are:

The three page Western Union letter and envelope from Doc to Marty
The map to find the time machine
The repair instructions
And the time machine schematics

Roland if you could reproduce these and to scale (or pretty close) that would be awesome.

I have versions of all of these but not quite accurate. I would love to help, if I can, with any of these.

Heres to the New Year, 2013,

Hi DBC

These are the ones you have, correct?

BTW: Is there a file available with the line "Partners in Time, Septembre 1885"?

Would like to print it out for a perfect version before I destroy it with my handwriting?!? :lol

Here is a vector PDF with the line taken from a Blu-ray screencap.

The writing isn't sharp/clear, even in HD, but I have cleaned it up enough that it should look nice with the framed photo.

The "Sep" of September was covered by Marty's thumb in the screencaps, so I clone-stamped the "Sep" from Doc's Western Union letter.

Here is my version of the Delorean Repair Schematic.

View attachment 138119

I've included 2 versions of the PDF one with the texture, and one without.

Finished size for this is 35" x 23", but they are vector PDf's so you can scale them to whatever size you want.

Comments, suggestions or corrections let me know.

PDF's attached.

Peter

great as usual - I've decided after all the great stuff in these forums to invest in a A3 Printer which can handle anything from 6x4 photo paper to A3 sheets and larger paper as long as it fits in the feeder - so long documents will not be a problem anymore.

Once I've worked out hoe to to use it and costs i.e different inks (takes 6 cartridges), paper etc. if anyone interested I can print stuff out for you at minimal cost depending on size - plus Postage + packing. were all friends here so noting to extortionate - not out to make money just help some of you out.

What printer you have?

Thought about to get one, too... But not that easy... Some people told me some printers have problems with A3, even if they are A3 printers...

Of course there are some printers for business and bueros but I thought maybe there is a good printer somewhere, which can scan and print... Of course only A4 scanner, but A3 printer... ?!?

@ DB537:

Thanks for the line... Got my frame, now I just have to arrange the printing...

Does anyone know how big the photo was in the movie?
Maybe I try to make the whole page with lines to print out, that would make everything easier...
