Back to the Future in Theaters all over the US

And spin our OUTATIME plates?

mike can be doc since he has the hair for it...we can reenact the scene by pouring lighter fluid in the parking lot...lighting it on fire...and i can run down the lane asking doc to send me back to the future......shoot that happens in number 2...nevermind

And spin our OUTATIME plates?

Sure - why not...

We do need to coordinate logistics.

If we have five or so going and all want to sit together in a decent location in the auditorium, we'll need to get in line early.

Factor that best photo ops of the location will be before the show (while the sun is still up, though the scenese were shot at night), we may need to get there pretty early. At least some of us.

I will probably leave OC no later than 5:00. Maybe closer to 4:00. I figure with grabbing dinner on the way, allow an hour to get there, and probably want to be there an hour prior to the show (6:00) minimum to get a decent spot in line. Add in an hour for goofing off at the actual filming spots...

would you guys like to meet early to get food? or should we eat before we show up? They have several options near the mall...I can get a list together if you guys are interested what they have there to eat

I will probably get there early to avoid traffic...not sure which route I am planning to take..It depends where I am at and the flow of traffic...Best website I use to check traffic is Sigalert.com - Pick a City

Traffic sucks because it isnt consistent. Some days you wish you were never born or you wonder why there are so many people in this world and other days you wonder why you left so early because there was no traffic..

Usually traffic is bad on certain days on the 57 freeway. The traffic is bad because the 57 leads to Riverside. People use it as an alternate route to avoid the hellish 91 freeway (but sometimes it is just as bad)....once you get to the 60..Sometimes it is smooth sailing..and sometimes it gets busy do to people trying to get to los angeles...

I'm up for anything. I will want to bring my cast signed plate to take a pic of it lying on the ground in the parking lot.

I dont mind getting there early, let's get a plan together if we are meeting up for dinner early. I agree with Rob that we probably need to be in line pretty early as well.

Not to throw a bucket of cold water on things, but I think eating together may add in a bit too much.

If you figure getting in line at 6:00 (may be a bit early, but let's pad it out for now), and an hour of goofing off in the parking lot (taking pics, etcetera; also maybe a bit more than necessary), then from 5:00 on, its all about the show.

If we do a joint dinner at a "sit-down" restarurant (like TGI Fridays), count on at least an hour, maybe an hour and a half. So you'd be talking sitting down to dinner at 3:30 - 4:00 to allow us to head out to the filming spots for pics at 5:00-ish, and the line by 6:00.

Now, of course, this all assumes a certain order of events, and some padded time frames. You could move things around, take a few pics in the film locations first then eat later (around 4:30 or 5:00) and that would allow enough time to get to the line by 6:00-ish.

Another thing we should keep in mind regarding the filming spots - though before the movie plays it will be daylight and better shots, the parking lot will most likely be pretty full; not open like in the movie.

There may be a line of parked cars where we want to take shots of the license plate props, or where the DeLorean Reveal took place.

After the film it should be much more open.

I think you might be right Rob. I plan to be there before rush hour. So leaving the westside around 3:30 or so.

Brad

That's about when I'l be leaving the OC. Maybe a bit later.

We'll come up with a meeting time and place between now and then.

I am free all day, so I dont mind what time we meet.

We can always get fast food and eat it in the parking lot and say we ate fast food in the same parking lot the movie was filmed..There are several fast food joints nearby such as in n out, chipotle, etc etc...Or there is a costco nearby...I can always call in advance to order pizza....

And along those lines...! ;)

Here is what we're looking at:
--The lowest circle is where the Art Department placed the "Twin/Lone Pine(s) Mall" sign.
-- The middle circle is where the bulk of the filming took place - the white line running through the oval is the barrier Marty raced along
--The upper circle of course is the theater

that parking lot area is usually empty

I did my own little map....the blue circle at bottom is chipotle and a few other fast food places I believe...the blue circle at top is where the costco is located :)

How the hell did a dogmeat engined Delorean (weighted down with time travel equipment to boot) ever get up to 88mph that fast in that parking lot? LOL

There's not enough room!

Just saw this in theatres over here in the uk, must say it was brilliantly remastered and looked great on the big screen. Well worth it.
