Back to the Future Guitars

That is defiantly a PRS. The custom inlays are on their top of the line guitars.
And while PRS are not cheap they really are great guitars.

Here is they guitar I built. It's not a Gibson, it's the cheaper Epiphone.

I replaced everything with gold and added the Bigsby. I love her to death :)

I'm not sure if I'll go as far as trying to hide the brand name. I don't know that it would ever look right.

i don't know if you can go to a professional guitar maker to do that, and if it's really allowed haha! But yeah! I think the pickups are silver by the way!

No "professional" guitar builder will help you change the headstock name to a Gibson. They appreciate genuine Gibson guitars enough to not produce one that could some day be used to dupe someone.

Your best bet is to remove all chrome hardware from the headstock. Mask off all frets, sides and back of the neck. Then spray paint the head to hide the Epiphone logo. To make it uniform, spray the whole face. Then find a Gibson decal to put on... Then clear coat it.

Of course the shape of the headstock is still obviously an Epiphone shape, but it would be passable for display. Your only other option would be to buy an actual Gibson neck and replace yours, but the neck alone will cost more than your whole Epi guitar did.

I'm pretty sure the pickups are gold. If you look closely at how it's tarnished it feels warmer than what the chrome would have had.

Either way, I love the gold look.

Yeah.....I'm not changing the neck. Is done. The decals are one thing, but I'm not going to any more trouble with it. One day maybe I will buy a Gibson :)

Screw the Blu-ray, it's awful quality. I'm just off to sleep, but in the morning I'll upload some proper stills taken on the set during filming. I have a couple from the rehearsal of that scene too. Much higher quality than the Blu-ray.

I have a question for you guys - on the Chiquita, is that the standard Hondo logo on the truss rod cover piece?

I can't really see on the chiquita guitar :x
I think there's no other logo than the chiquita on the head?

Mmmh, from the bluray, i have the impression the pickups are silver, I don't know why XD
