Back to the Future (25th Anniversary) Blu-ray Announced!

You UK folks have all the fun. They're even re-releasing it in theaters first week of October there!

...only in the UK:cry

I hate to be negative (honestly, I mean that) but given that this is the all-signing, all-dancing, absolute rammed chock full o goodies set, shouldn't there be a little bit more than "three very brief snippets" of Eric Stoltz, given that they filmed, what, 45 minutes or so with him? It sound like this section of film history will get a couple of minutes as an aside in a making of and that's all.

Maybe that was all the footage they could use since back in the day there weren't any thoughts of special features and home video was just coming into play. My guess is the footage has been lost and this is all we got. I see no reason why they wouldn't present a wealth of this footage on this set if that wasn't the case.

Quietly hoping that the plate and almanac are 1:1.

Amazon and Play.com say theres a Delorean blueprint,a save the clocktower poster and the photo of Marty's family included as well. If there good, im in.

I wonder if the save the clocktower poster will have "real" text or the gibberesh text of the real prop.

Is somewhere a thread? And why no-one said a word?!? :confused

And this is a special post for the "does it suck to be a RPF member in Europe or australia" thread.

And if I see these events I can say from deep inside my heart: YES, it sucks!!! :cry

So no new word yet on the Almanac replcia?
I was always hoping DST would do a replica - but hopefully an accurate one with text AND the metallic ink on the cover.

Here you go

Since DST couldn't even get the Outatime license plate replica right, I hope they don't go ahead with any more BTTF replicas unless they wish to do things accurately. Their minimates on the other hand have a great amount of details.

Since the Japanese DVD set for the 20th Anniversary were able to include accurate replicas like the Outatime plate and Doc's 1885 letters, I am hoping this UK set has an accurate Almanac book replica and not just an Almanac cover.

So great, they are including:

Inaccurate Sports Almanac
Inaccurate Clock Newspaper
Inaccurate Doc and Marty photo
and production material that are useless...

Sweet! :thumbsdown :angry

i'm digging the larger concept poster on the right. i would LOVE to have a full size 27x40 copy... but not a folded 11x17 mini poster stuck inside of a DVD case.

I like all the concept artwork materials.

But that Marty and Doc photo is a screencap. Not too pleased with the Almanac cover either.

Amazon.co.jp: バック・トゥ・ザ・フューチャー 25thアニバーサリー Blu-ray BOX [Blu-ray]: ロバー
Japanese BTTF Blu-ray Box

6123 Yen (approx: $71 USD)

The Japanese cover has the clock in the background, instead of Marty and Doc, whereas the UK cover has only Marty.

I am a sucker for print material and books especially when it comes to BTTF. So this Encyclopedia of BTTF though would be filled with already known information and pictures, is still enticing to me.

The background top design for the Japanese BTTF Blu-ray case is similar to their 20th Anniversary DVD case design.

Zurück in die Zukunft - 25th Anniversary Trilogie inkl. Miniatur DeLorean Blu-ray: Amazon.de: Michael J. Fox, Christopher Lloyd, Crispin Glover, Lea Thompson, Thomas F. Wilson, Robert Zemeckis: DVD & Blu-ray
German BTTF Blu-ray Box (including miniature DeLorean)

Euro 54.60 (without VAT) (approx: $71 USD)

Crude looking plastic model of the DeLorean, but I like the flying mode setup.

Coffret Trilogie Retour vers le futur - Edition collector limitée avec réplique voiture Delorean Blu-ray: Amazon.fr: Fox Michael J, Christopher Lloyd, Lea Thompson, Robert Zemeckis: DVD
French BTTF Blu-ray Box (including miniature DeLorean)

Euro 40.13 (without VAT) (approx: $52 USD)

Appears to be the same as the German set. The picture below shows a different angle of the miniature DeLorean and the front side of the case with the desert background artwork. Click on the image below to go their gallery page and zoom to get a better view.

Back to the Future Trilogy Limited Edition Collector's Tin Blu-ray: Amazon.co.uk: Michael J. Fox, Robert Zemeckis: DVD
In terms of value for money, the UK set seems better overall.
£38.24 (without VAT) (approx: $60 USD)
