HELLO RPF, I've decided to build my first cosplay for DragonCon this fall in Atlanta. I live about a 15 minute walk from where it's held so I figured why not wear a costume this time. My first choice is... not exactly for beginners, but not necessarily very complex either, and since I am an artist I figure it may be a little easier than it would be for someone who isn't. I could be totally wrong. I've been sketching up notes on how I should go about doing this, but I don't know the first thing about physical crafting other than how to sew. I will update this post as I get more suggestions. Here are the refs I've gathered:

Upper body:
So in my head I've basically separated this into three separate layers based on color: black, grey/white, and yellow. Black looks to be the lower most layer, surrounding the chest and wrapping around the back, cutting off below the breasts/at the base of the shoulder blades. There's also some black on the outer tricep and inner forearm, and surrounding the neck region. I doodled it up so maybe you can see it better:

Grey/white is the second layer, with white as accents, and yellow is the outermost layer. I'm thinking the black, white, and grey could be spandex or polyester or something else tight-fitting ... although I've heard it can tend to be too shiny in flash photos, and I've also heard cotton is easier to sew. I feel like cotton wouldn't look right though. Other ideas include modifying a black bodysuit and grey bodysuit and wearing one underneath the other... sports bra for black parts... maybe neoprene? Idk how silly I sound. I don't know much about any of these materials. As for the yellow, I'd like to make those actual armor pieces as opposed to a soft material. But they'd need to be sleek, not clunky. No idea where to start there.
Lower body
Will probably just buy two pairs of pants and modify/cut up as need be. Shoes I can also probably do relatively easily. Random buckles around the pants, I'm not so sure about. Also not sure where I can get a belt like that. :c
Cosmetics
Need to buy a wig, not sure where I can get quality ones for cosplay. I've got a tutorial about how to make too-shiny looking wigs more soft and realistic-looking, so that might help as well. Will also need to buy good makeup, also need tips on which I should get. I want to get lipstick that less matte and with more depth, kind of like in this picture:

Also need suggestions on where I could get similar contacts, as well as body paint I can use for the blue tattoos and comic-looking accents and fabric paint I could use for the accents on armor/fabric.
OKAY I think that's it, so mainly I need suggestions for the smaller details as well as some major help on crafting the armor pieces and how to go about doing the black/grey/white layers of the costume as well as what materials you think would be best. If you know of tutorials, feel free to link me!
