Avoid This Ebay Seller!!

I bought this Cylon helmet from this guy in Australia named Bentley O'Toole.

Extremely slow shipping...(a month), poor communication and in his auction he says the piece will require "MINOR SANDING", it's going to take me a month using bondo to repair all the bad spots on this thing. I also had to dipute the charge on paypal before this guy would do anything.
He has some nice looking pieces for sale. Too bad his work is so poor.

The last I read of "Bently O'Toole" was regarding some Jame Bond stuff. I remember the discussion of the name as a compilation of Bond names, and probably not hos own.

Probably a good guy to stay away from.
 
Aaaaaaack! I'm waiting for some allegedly production (or one-off) made Fett parts from him. I was going to check in Monday if I didn't get a delivery slip in the mail... :unsure

THe guy is a scumbag piece of crap, totally unreliable. I had to threaten him several ways to get everything i bought from him. He is not a member here, but his near by friend "Sleepless" from here knows him as is posted in the other post.
 
Man...I wish I was a member here before I had dealt with this guy...I would have looked all this up and no way would I have sent him a dime....
 
Plan on getting out the bondo bro. IF you ever get them.
 
UPDATE!!...Now since I left negative feedback for this jerk on ebay..of course he had to retaliate! Apparently the rest of you that got screwed are just "PICKY" too!!

I am not defending Bentley or anything to do with the transaction, but your new to the board with a total of 5 posting, and 4 are complaining about Bentley. Seems more like a mission to be on the board to bad mouth him than anything else. :thumbsdown
 
I directed RedDwarf81 to this site. While he has complained about his transaction, I really think it is just to get it off of his chest.

I am sure in the long run he will be an asset to our little online community. He has been very open on some "how to's" with me, where others have kept quiet.

I just looked at his posts, and the four that are complaining about Bently are in this thread. Where is the problem? He is just chatting and updating about his dealings, I don't see them as a witch hunt.

I just question people that come on to a forum and start out in this method. I just take notice is all, and wonder what the true reason is. He cast a doubt about someone not even a member of this forum, I just wonder what the true intention is. To inform us on the board, or a ax to grind because of a flawed deal. If he wasn't so new to board, or had a number of posting under his belt I wouldn't have blinked twice. It was just a red flag to me, and yes I have seen other posting about Bentley about the same problem he has with shipping time, or quality control. No concern of mine, about him and his work. Just a comment with question about motive of reddarf81 is all. It just seem like a cool way to enter into a forum page bashing someone, even if it was earned, and true.
 
Fair enough, but I see a lot of people do this. right or wrong, i don't know, maybe it is that finally people have a place to vent about things that have to do with our hobby, when they find us.

Oh well.

well, thanks to SgtFang, Bentley was brought to my attention. he has another ID on ebay, it's cranky-pantz. he's selling the mold for his current stormtrooper bucket because he's going to be making a new mold from an "sds stunt cast helmet" i was thinking of maybe gettin' something from him...guess not

Waitaminute - didn't that Universal Armorer guy leave the US to go to Australia? He's wanted on kiddie p*rn charges, IIRC.
