Avengers Movie SPOILER Thread

If you think about it though, the helicarrier was essentially the new SHIELD HQ. So they moved all the equipment and special weapons there. There's no research going on with the weapons, they're just in storage. Coulson grabbed it because he figured it might work against a demigod. Cap had to break open a door to get into the room with the hydra weapons. Even today in the military, all our weapons are locked away in vaults so why wouldn't this be any different. Especially since Loki has the ability to brainwash people so for all they knew, Loki could have had a spy among them. Even more reason to keep weapons locked up.

Ooh! Good point. Okay, I'm coming around on the button-sized bug.

To the matter of the eye scan, I'm just secretly hoping Coulson is alive. Can you blame me?

-Nick

No, I don't blame you. I absolutely adore Coulson and would love to see more of him, but it needs to be handled well.

I liked Coulson, but if he is alive or brought back some how, his death will be meaningless and I hate that once dead, they don't stay dead. That's the point of death. It hits and is lasting and it doesn't care whether you liked the character or not. The more you like a character the harder it hits... however... if people can just be brought back... you lose any sense of drama and consequence.

I don't really care if it happens in the comic books. This isn't the comic books. This is movies and they don't have to continue for several decades to make a comic book publisher money. Doing it in the movies... would just be a flat out mistake.

Only way it could work is if it was used against the heroes, perverting what the character stood for and their relationship with him/her... but again... that's just a cheap-shot dramatic tool.

Somehow when Back Widow was talking to Loki. When Loki said the Monster, and Black Widow thinks it is Banner/Hulk. But for some reason, I feel that Loki was talking about SHEILDS then Hulk.

Pretty sure he was only talking about Hulk considering he got him to go on a rampage.

I finally got to see the movie today....And I for one had no trouble understanding the plot. :lol :p

Silly. ;)

Seriously, though, I thought it was pretty well written and I was pleased to see that Joss actually seemed able to restrain his urge to be overly clever-trendy with some of the dialogue. :)

Coulson is dead, Why oh why would Fury stand over the 'life model decoy' as he 'dies' saying 'hold on' and that him checking out is 'not an option'. I liked the character but he's dead

But, but, but...PHIL!!!!!!

That's about the extent of my logic. I just love the character. The only thing I can think of is maybe the LMD use was even above Fury's pay grade...Level 8? :lol

he just didnt die

how often do you see movies or tv shows, where someone is bleeding gallons of blood, speaking his last words to someone nearby, the person saying: you cant die...
bla, closes eyes.
next shot is he half wakes up on a hospital bed with faces above him

happens in two out of 3 movies or so.
same thing here

Because Fury is a desperate man. A man who realizes that he is entirely out of his league. A man who will do anything to win. Coulson lives, Bro. You know it be true.

I wonder if we'll get to see any additional Agent Coulson antics when the blu-ray hits? I loved the MARVEL ONE SHOT: The Consultant and the MARVEL ONE SHOT: A Funny Thing Happened on the way to Thor's Hammer. They've got to have more of those...

The One Shot for the Avenger's DVD was announced as being titled "Item 47."

Do you think it's connected to "Page 47" from the Book of Secrets in National Treasure? :p
