Avengers Movie SPOILER Thread

I am just counting the days until Amazon delivers this to my door. This release has completely exceeded my expectations.

I assumed he was referring to the DC on home video, not in theaters. I don't know why anyone would expect that, I think you can count all of the "director's cut" re-releases in theaters on one hand.

Anyway, the article you link does say that the home video discs will have the longer cut. So I'm happy.

It just doesn't flat out say that the 30 extra minutes is integrated into the film. Are the things they mentioned edited in? Or are they just part of the deleted scenes?

Just a heads up, Amazon's preorder price is now $139 and comes with their price guarantee. If the price drops between your preorder and the release, you'll get the lower price. Just preordered mine!

Not a clue. I think they implied that it will be reintegrated, but it's not certain.

If it is, I assume the menu will give us the choice of which version to watch.

I'd like to see the extra scenes one way or another.

I guess The Avengers have won the battle for Big Movie Of The Year. I don't think Batman will come near it.

Is that a working (light-up) tesseract in that briefcase? I would love it if it lit up and was removable from the case. Hell, the circuits and number pad should light up like in the movies. That would be awesome.

Man, I am definitely pre-ordering that box set!

Unfortunately, I kinda doubt that it will include the Director's Cut of The Avengers. No where in the product description does it use those words, and it does say this: "Run Time: 143 minutes"

There is a chance that it's just using the normal film's runtime because the exact runtime of the DC isn't known yet, but I doubt it. It's much more likely that the Avengers DC will be a separate, standalone product. They'll milk this title for all it's worth.

Although, this page
http://www.amazon.com/Marvels-The-Avengers-Four-Disc-Combo/dp/B001KVZ6HK/ref=pd_cp_mov_0
does have a matrix that compares the features of the different Avengers Blu-ray releases, and it mentions some various Deleted Scenes. But, as cboath pointed out, when they refer to deleted scenes so explicitly like that, it doesn't really sound like a Director's Cut (i.e. deleted scenes integrated into the movie), but rather special features on the bonus disc or something.

And regardless, under the box set column, the inclusion of deleted scenes is still 'TBA'... :unsure

Still going to pre-order it though, if just for the collectibles. I'll gladly fork over loads of cash at the studios for this film if it means they'll keep making more of this caliber.

BTW -- I should probably know this, but are there Director's Cuts of Thor or Captain America TFA? Preliminary googling indicates that there aren't.

Very cool, but sucks having to buy duplicates of stuff you already have to get it.

Yeah, as much as I want the boxed set, I don't think I could justify to myself spending that much on duplicates.

Probably just going to go with the 4 disc combo.

The box set is now down to 139 at amazon.

To me that's 4 new flicks, 3 that are 3D BR's which seel for 30 a pop individually, plus a 4th that isn't 3D and The box, files, etc. Sounds like a good deal right now!

have a question
what ejects from tony's shoulders as he falls back into the vortex.
technically does that ejecting force him back (backwards) toward the hole in space?

I think it is the extra thrusters he has on his back. He probably felt that if there was any chance he would be pulled back towards Earth, he didn't need any extra weight.

Re: The Avengers... HD Pics...

Probably not a good idea to post those here. Doesn't take a genius to figure out where you're getting them from.
