Avengers 2: what would you like to see?

ultron is exactly what i was thinking. bring in wasp, leave hank out of costume till his movie, and have ultron take over the destroyer armor to use as a body

I remember in one of the one shots 'thor's hammer' I think, Abomination was mentioned, lets have a threat that originates on earth this time round? I do think that Cap was all but wasted in the final battle, being that he couldn't fly or jump real high, I'd like a more tense, claustrophobic finale

Some hints at Agent Colsens return would awesome. That was the most heart breaking scene. All that character development through multiple films, then, wham! He's dead. I hope there is more.

I was hoping the same thing when Chewbacca died... for the next three books!!! But, damn, I got pissed at the Yuzon-Vong! If he comes back, it'll take a lot away from A-1. I think his death was part of what made the climax such a rush.

you mean like the Shield TV series where he coulson is the lead character? :D

Ant Man (I know it's coming out after A2, please just let me dream), Ultron, and sowing seeds for Civil War.

sowing seeds for Civil War.

Civil War could be a good Earth-centric Avengers 3 film. The Phase 3 films could push the agenda, leading up to the full-blown war in Avengers 3. The "death" of Captain America could be a great ending, though I'm not sure how they would bring him back realistically in Cap 4.

But lets focus on Avengers 2. :lol

Marvel Studios has to know that superhero movies is not a sustainable trend, as much as I've loved the road to Avengers I really think they should put it to rest after Avengers 3. And yeah, having it end with Cap's death would be amazing. And could realistically use Ultron as a way to setup Civil War, rather than the events of the comics (since I doubt they're going to introduce entire new groups of heroes to movie audiences).

But I agree, let's get to #2 first, lol.

Also something I'd like to see in Avengers 2 (or really any of the Marvel movies) is the Helicarrier in a knock down drag out fight in the city. None of this stealth crap, I want to see that beauty kick some ass.

I'd love to see the Hellicarrier in action as well. Though I also want to see it torn in half and crash. Seems like a comic book rule, the Hellicarrier must go down.

You know what would be a fantastic opening for A2? All the Avengers, one-by-one, suiting up and then flying like a bat out-of-hell to all converge on one location, back-to-back with weapons brimming... A true hero shot of all of them, then pull out the frame and WHAM! They are at a birthday party!!! I know you might say Avengers don't do birthday parties, but it could be for the Make a Wish foundation, or something... I think that would be fun.

More Thanos. Raiding the weapon room on Asgard for the Infinity Gauntlet and all hell breaks loose.
God yes, I don't know how this is going to go down, but I can only imagine Thanos beating the snot out of Thor and Odin before he even gets the gauntlet. I can only imagine that Asgard losing the gauntlet is going to be the climax of whatever movie that happens in.

Wow. This thread has gone from a movie topic to a conversation worthy of The Big Bang Theory! LOL I can just see Sheldon ranting and Raving about why he is SURE that Avengers 2 should have The Flash in it... :) Keep it up; there are no rules, here. Just remember what the topic is. I have learned quite a bit about Thor's hammer. I didn't even know it had a name two weeks ago!:$

If we are going afield of Marvel characters that are in the usual Marvel Universe - and A2 will definitely have Thanos in it - likely also the Infinity Gauntlet - what about Warlock, and even like... Dreadstar?

yeah would never happen, but one can dream

Yeah, Hollywood is pretty liberal... I wouldn't doubt, in ten years, they'll make a made-for-tv movie about some kid going back in time to Middle Earth and having a grand adventure with Gandalf... It's just what they do. :)

Can't have the Gauntlet without Adam Warlock. msleeper, I would wager that Thanos takes the Gauntlet, uses it to decimate Asgard and heads for Earth. Let's end it on a bad guys winning note.

Hmm hadn't thought it that far down the pike yet. Good call though. Let's say they are looking to make The Avengers core movies a trilogy. So Avengers, then A2 & finally in like 2018-19 A3. The best trilogies are usually a complete story, and work best when the 2nd movie being the middle of the great struggle between the good & the bad players, it is most dramatic when the 2nd movie turns a bit bad for the good guys, and at the end of that movie we see them on the ropes (Empire; Han frozen, Luke's hand & saber lost - Dark Knight; Harvey dead; Joker alive; Batman a villain in hiding - Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen... :wacko )

Perhaps the end of A2 could climax with Thanos maybe finally getting the Infinity Gauntlet & reworking reality... perhaps then an after credits scene of Warlock with the Avengers safe in some pocket dimension protected from Thanos's reality warping.

Even if they destroyed Asgard, you're not going to have the bad guys end on a winning note if they're going to go after Earth. The moment anyone goes after Earth, there will be no doubt in people's minds that Earth will be saved. It's like everything Star Trek. You can destroy Vulcan, Romulas, Quonos, or any other alien world out there, but the moment anyone goes after Earth, they are always beaten. If you want to really have the bad guys win, have them conquer or destroy Earth and than we'll have the bad guys ending on a winning note.

Good point. What if the Avengers are decimated on Asgard then? They are recruited to try and prevent the taking of the Gauntlet and fail horribly, leaving Earth defenseless.
