Auto Sent box feature?

I always forget to check the 'put a copy in my sent box' button before I send messages. Is this a capability we can add to profiles so that it automatically does this?

It's an interesting idea and we have discussed it. Given that this is an all or nothing feature and that my quick research shows that far more people don't save copies than do and since having to do more inbox maintanence would be more inconvinient than remembering to click the button, we have decided not to change that...

Good suggestion though.

Does your research take into account those that probably would like a copy saved but don't click on the button to do so? Or is it based solely on how many messages are saved v. sent overall? Why not take a poll to see how the membership feels on the subject?

It was based on actual choice to save or to not and the difference was overwhelming.

We're looking into the possibility of a user selection flag option, but since that is a very different kind of code change and requires development it goes on the list of things to consider...
