AT-AT Driver Helmet: Tusk, Found Item?

So a friend of mine recently finished a Junk/Found Item Mixed Medium Collage piece and as I was checking it out 1 item jumped out me. My first thought was AT-AT Driver Helmet Tusk. I asked where it came from and he said he thought it came from an late 70's/early 80's turntable he tore apart for the guts. I know some of the greeblies from the Tie Helmet came from audio gear so it seems about right. The spindle itself comes off with a simple set screw, leaving just the base, so I'm thinking the spike part was some other part. Halfway to figuring it out?

The spikes of the AT-AT helmet tusks are from a Michell turntable sweep arm. The same pieces were used as Fett's toe spikes and on many other props.
The disc with holes could be from a Michell as well. I've done a lot of research on their turntables. I haven't seen a piece like that, but I haven't seen a turntable completely torn down either.
