Assassin's Creed: Ninja Edition

Hello everyone.

Yes I know, there are a lot of things I start and do not finish. Well..I plan to finish ALL of them, but as of now, I don't have room to do anything. I just pepped a HALO: ODST helmet because I was bored.

I'm looking very hard for a job to get my life back, however, so far it's not going very well. But I have ideas, creativity and I need to get those out. And I'll show you guys what my head is doing with me and what I want to finish.

Fist, I'd like to thank Feveron for her amazingly inspiring walkthrough of her Assassin's Creed Revelations cosplay. I bow to you. You gave me the inspiration to go on with detailed costumes and actually get to a high level of accurateness.

However, since this costume is custom made, designed and thought of, there is not much to be accurate to. Still, I'm going to try and get it as authentic as possible. It's an Assassin's Creed costume based on the Ninja. I practice Ninjutsu so yeah, it seemed fitting. Here are the initial sketches.

Beware, I'll change a lot of details I guess. These are all drawn on small notes.

Working on a concept painting now to get the general idea. This is just a sketch (more or less) I'll refine it and finish it. So far, only the hood and the scarf/cape have been 'refined' but not yet detailed.

I wanted to make the scarf looking like it's made of satin. It's such an eastern fabric, it couldn't be left out. The belt area is going to be more like cotton. Could be satin aswell, but might be too smooth for the belt to hold on.

Ja gast, maar ik ben ook nog lang niet klaar. Het is een Work-in-progress natuurlijk. Eerst de basis, dan de accessoires, dan de details. Ik heb hier wel meer voor gepland staan. Ik neem aan dat je de schetsen ook bekeken hebt?
(Overigens zijn standaard ninja's gewoon 'normale' mensen. geen bijzonder pakje oid)

Yes but I'm not yet finished. It's a work in progress of course. First the basics, then the accessories, and then the details. I've got more planned for this costume than just 'this'. I hope you looked at the sketches aswell.

And I've worked some more of it. I notice that I have to take regular breaks because my elbow is hurting when I draw too much with my tablet. I think this table isn't good enough. So I'm taking another break. Maybe going on tomorrow.

I changed the lower part more like the dresses with slits with some embroidery on it. The armor parts will be painted on later. The belt is now of black leather because it fits the color scheme better. However, this is merely a sketch. There will be more Red/gold in it. I'm thinking of red trimming around the hood and robes, while a bit of gold detail could be put into the embroidery.

Enjoy this second upload. The third one will be finished I guess...or just without the weapons or anything. I don't know, but for now I have to take care of my elbow.

I like ninjas...So tabi shoes? The gauntlets have always been quite intricate, no?
What other weapons will it have? Smoke bombs, shruiken, tanto? I think you should have retractable three claw instead of the standard one blade, just for originality.

The three claw blade is not a weapon. Yes it will be with Tabi as seen in the fist sketches. The 'painting' is not really finished yet.

I for weapons I have reserved:

Tanto, Ninjato, Shuriken, bo-shuriken, poison (to be used on blade or shuriken), Kusarigama. Maybe something like a bow. Not sure about that yet. A grappling hook is also something I'm thinking of. Ninja were very versatile and the training is most of the time based on 'use the surroundings' and develop new weapons to outrun the opponent.

I've seen enough kung-fu flicks to know the three claw blade IS a weapon...:lol

no over the sholder cape? color choices? just a strait black? I wish the game had more customization like outfits like this for the story.

Cabra, are you talking a out sai? That's chinese. Just like the bo staff and kung fu. A ninja is japanese and never used a sai. Sai are also not used for stabbing, but for disarming, because they are blunt.


About the cover; it's NOT ezio. Accessories will be paintes on later. Just like more colors.

I see. I used different claws, on the inside of my hand. Anyway, I'm not going to use those. I have to keep it convention friendly aswell, seeing as you're not allowed to carry any 'weapons' in cons in this country. So the shurikens will be made of soft rubber I think, or some kind of resin with blunt tips. Just like the hidden 'blade'/tanto.

Even wooden swords are hard to get into the cons. So I hope you understand that I keep it a bit 'down'.

I've got myself some fabric today. I'm also scavenging the internet for leftovers people have and not use anymore for tests. But I at least have 7,5 meters of Black fabric and 2 meters of red/black fabric.

I did a little bit today. More progress tomorrow I think, but here's some rough idea of the hood.

Strangely enough, this little fella is on scale 1:1 with my head. I've got a really small head....

It's going to be WAY stiffer. I'll add an extra layer and then the inside of the hood, which will be dark red (like the belt...the fabric in the last post) But for now, I'm not disappointed and I like the fabric and it's details. Feels good for an eastern sphere

Just a test of the gi/robes with the red fabric for the belt (and possibly scarf)

(pins are still planted. Nothing is sewn yet! That's why the hood looks sloppy)

I dit quite a lot today, and note; this is my first time sewing EVER. Still, I'm rather disappointed with the hood. It's good for 1 con (if I ever go to one soon *ahem*) but will have to be done over. The general shape is good, but it's asymmetrical and warps. I blame it on the fact that my dummy head is locked away. The hood also needs the red trim I've been planning to use. Working on your own head or a balloon isn't so...successful. The body is in the making, however, I'm waiting with that until I have a mannequin. I don't want to mess it up. The general idea is down though.

So, bear with me. My first sewing project ever....
