Except for the ribbing it looks like you could probably make the cuirass pretty easily out of a trash can. You could try making the ribbing/ridges by heating the plastic and then use something to press on the insides to create the ridges. All in all I'd say that with a little time and creativity you could make the armor yourself fairly easily and cheaply.

Yup, the Mandos have been using trash cans to make their armor for quite some time now and there's a thread here demonstrating how you can make an Iron Man costume by riveting together parts cut out of plastic trash can. If you can make an Iron Man armor and Mando armor from a plastic trash can then you can make that set of seggy from trash cans, in fact, with the exception of the ridges that simulate the bands, it would be even easier than either Iron Man or a Mando.

Depending on the size of the trash can I'd guess that you could make that seggy out of just two cans. One can would form the cuirass, you'd just cut out and trim the bottom and then make an opening in the front. The shoulders you make a pattern on paper first, lay it on the trash can and cut around the pattern. The only trick would be to simulate the banding, that you could probably do with heating the can and then running something along the inside to create a ridge all around. I'm sure that some of the more experienced people here can offer you a better suggestion for how to make the ridges.

As for putting the whole thing together, it looks like the front of the cuirass uses off the shelf hardware for the laces to go through. What it looks like to me is the little triangles that you find on the back of some picture frames for hanging them on your wall, just bigger. I'm sure that you can find them at either places like Lowe's or Home Depot or at stores like Aaron Brothers or Michael's. As for how the shoulders connect to the cuirass, they're simply tied to either side of one of the top most bands.

And you can take pride in the fact that you made it yourself.

I just thought of a relatively easy way to make the ridges in the armor. I'd find either some kind of roller that's about the width of the ridge or something like a clay working tool and run it across the plastic after heating it first to soften it. Just remember to cut your cuirass a little long at first because the ridges the length slightly.

Another way to make the ridges would be to use something like bondo or any sort of putty like material that will adhere to the plastic and sculpt the ridges and add them on. Once you sand them and paint over the entire armor it should look just fine. Alternately you could try laying down ridges by using a hot glue gun, it should stick to the plastic fairly well and won't need any sanding. It will be kind of hard to get nice, straight lines (not like the lines on the cuirass are all that clean anyway) but it would be quick, easy, and cheap.
