Hi everyone, just wanted to share the Arkham Knight Scarecrow Costume I made for halloween last year. I put this guy together in about 3 weeks. It's probably the least prepared I've been for Halloween in about 6 years haha. Mad dash to get it done in time.
Anyway.... PICTURES!!!
I started out making the overcoat. It's made of brown burlap which was then sporatically covered in varying shades of brown fabric paint to give it a grimy look.
Then I made the vest out of a faux leather and the mask out of canvas. the gas mask is just a bit of EVA Foam and Balsa. You can also see the raw cut of the gauntlet, fresh off of the new cnc machine!!
Finally were all the embelleshments. The canisters where waterbottles wraped in foam and given little chemical windows and were attached to the tubes filled with "fear toxin" (Orange soap), I got a short, and very scratchy I might add, rope for the noose (never thought I'd learn to tie a noose for a costume), painted the gauntlet after being sealed with plasti-dip, and made the needle peripheral for my hand.
I had alot of fun making this. I started with Sketchup to make the file for the majority of the gauntlet, had it milled from MDF on my colleges cnc machine and added the semi clear tubes by casting them from tinted smooth-on plastics. The hand peice is made from bristol board, foam, semi clear tinted plastic and pieces of steel that I filed down to points.
Here's a close up of the mask
When all was said and done I just couldn't help myself and had to play around in photoshop. Side note, HUGE props if you recognize the background image I used.
Thanks for stopping by!
If you want to see all of the other pictures I have of this build stop by my website or FB page here: http://soulproduct.weebly.com/ and here: https://www.facebook.com/#!/soulproducts. If you like what you see, please leave a like on FB, really appreciate it.
