This run is over.
I'd like to credit several people for either actually helping me build my ark, and now the kits.
Bruce Lee modeled the entire ark in 3d so I could have the lid parts printed for subsequent molding and casting.
David Simonds for sculpting the side panels.
Greg Nowling for general assistance.
Tom Dozier as the official Ark cheerleader.
Brett Landon for leg mold assistance, unused but still appreciated.
Adam Savage for invaluable reference.
The entire Blue Realm team for the massive kitting effort.
(Disclaimer, I am a partner in Blue Realm, but they do the work)
The kit includes parts needed for the build except the Cherubs, flat boards, and miscellaneous assembly hardware like screws and nails. This material I recommended for the lid top and bottom plus the cabinet bottom is 1/2" MDF. 3/4" plywood for the cabinet sides.
We have spent months building kits and except for actually packing each up as we get an order, they are ready to ship. It will generally take 2 - 3 days to prepare the final shipping of a kit after payment. Shipping costs will be invoiced separately.
The kit parts:
2 cast cherubs
4 pre-mitered custom double-cove lid pieces
4 hollow cast, foam filled legs
4 cast sculpted panels
4 sets of machined aluminum lifting ring hardware
4 sets of custom trim for the sculpted panels
4 sets of custom trim for the box base, ends pre-coped for the legs
1 set of cast lid bottom leaves
1 set of cast lid top leaves
1 set of cast lid top railing
2 cast single flat leaf assemblies for the top
All cast parts have been individually trimmed and any bubbles have been filled. Our goal was to get them about 95% ready for primer.
The cherubs now included are the result of a project last year to take the one droidboy had once partially refurbished, and do a complete update to it. It took about 6 weeks, but we are very happy with it.
Here is a build thread for the kit here: Building an Ark of the Covenant from our kit. On purchase you will receive a cut list for the flat parts.

My recommendation for a build is to have it gold chromed via the Cosmichrome process. The place that did mine is in Pennsylvania and called Coat of Chrome. Coat of Chrome - Don't Paint it Chrome It - Coat of Chrome. It will cost upwards of $3500 to have it done.
There are other spray on chrome processes, but I have not used anything other than Cosmichrome.
The lifting ring hardware doesn't get chromed. You can spray that yourself, which will match the prop.
Because the spray on gold processes are so expensive, you can also choose to spray the entire Ark yourself, which would be the second best way to do it, especially if you intend to weather it. I'll have recommended tips in the assembly guide as well.
The cherubs
We'll also have lifting poles and embroidered cloth sleeves available soon as well. (this part of the project has been on an indefinite delay)
You can contact me at philip@wiseacres.com if you're interested in getting a kit. (Kits are now sold out)
