Aquaman MovieTrailer

You know what?

This trailer is either godawful or brilliant. Or both.

To me, it exemplifies EXACTLY what is wrong with Hollywood today. I mean, if you didn't see the "DC" logo or have ANY association with Aquaman, what would people think of this? Let's look at it objectively.

You've got the usual mention of "destiny" and "child of two worlds" or something. Ok, great.

There's some mentor figure who, for some reason, is played by Ving Rhames? Oook.

The guy swims a lot and can swim fairly fast.

And he really likes to pose a lot. And he kisses a girl. And then he grabs his head and yells and falls off a dock.

Of course, there's an "destiny-fied" score with french horns, which, as we all know, are a prerequisite in any comic book movie now.

And, of course, 'splosions.

Outside of that, does the trailer tell you ANYTHING? No. But it pulls your attention by promising all the same stuff you've come to expect from comic book movies by using all the same tired cliches of comic book movie trailers. This trailer is perfect as a vehicle for bull****ting people into parting with their money. It merely runs through a checklist of "comic book trailer" factors, and ticks off every box. It's bull****. But then, so is Hollywood anymore.

And yes, I know it's not real, but to me, it's actually a perfect mirror of a very real problem.
And you know what else? It WORKS. People fall for it time and again, dare I say, hook, line, and sinker.

Take away the DC Logo and you also have a very good Trailer for a Possible "Man From Atlantis" Movie

What i want to know is how they did it ....

That was an actual movie. Aquaman is played by Justin Hartly, aka Green Arrow on Smallville. You can buy it on iTunes.

while there maybe a aquamna movie, this is not it, that is not a movie, the aquaman is the same guy from smallvile who played aquaman, it is scenes from the smallville series, and some of the scenes are from superman returns, (check the exsplosion under water and then the kryptonite island comming out of the water. All the scenes with aquaman in can be found in 2 or 3 episosde of smallville. In particular an episode from this season where they are all captured and aquaman is tied up infront of a heat lamp thing to keep any mositure away from him. then when he breaks free he tips a jug of water on his head.
Also when he is saying he was born with special skills or whatever the line is and then says he is gonaa use them to help save the planet, he is talking to clark kent and trying to make a point about how clark is not using his powers when he should be.

it is fan made with clips of over movies but still very good.

Slight clarification on the last post...

The Ving Rhames bits actually are from an Aquaman movie, in which Justin Hartley played Aquaman (before he had the part of Green Arrow on Smallville). It was intended as a pilot for an Aquaman based spin-off of Smallville, titled Mercy Reef. I guess they figured that even though Alan Ritchson looked the part in his stint on Smallville, his acting chops weren't quite good enough to carry a show - thus the changed casting.

Here's the IMDB entry: Aquaman (TV 2007) - IMDb

Whilst i appreciate the work that went into this generic-o-thon trailer....i've never really GOT Aquaman......always seemed a bit pointless to me...give me Marine Boy any day!
