Apollo 18

OK, I enjoyed Apollo 18. Was it the best movie of the summer? Far from it. It had some pretty big unexplained holes in the story (no spoilers) but it was still very entertaining. They did a great job making it look like old Apollo footage and I liked seeing the hardware on the big screen. There was some actual space program footage in the movie, some of which I haven't seen before. It was a scary in several places and did have some shock moments, which I'm not a huge fan of. It had a Blair Witch and Paranormal Activity feel to it.

In my opinion, it was worth the price of admission and I'm glad I went to see it.

Not even worth looking at all the hardware? I love that stuff.

The Russian LK was cool, but they went nuts with fish eye and processing, so you couldn't really get a good look.

I was sort into the mission patch until I realized a top-secret DoD mission wouldn't have heraldry of any kind.

Watching it online and I'm so glad I didn't pay to see this, its Paranormal Activity on the Moon.

I really don't advocate watching new work online. Folks work hard in an effort to entertain and the least the audience can do is pay for the ticket and takes yer chances. If you don't like it, or dismiss it, or it's not for you, that's a fair hit. Me saying I was bored should take into account that a. I'm not a horror movie fan at all and b. I'm a tough crowd for astronaut stuff. So me saying YAWN should illuminate a particular point of view that maybe a regular joe would not have.

But at no point would I think this story was half-assed. It's obvious the folks working on this were doing what they could do. That it doesn't resonate with me personally is a comment on me and not on them or their hard work.

I just got back.

And this is me, saying this.

I was bored out of my mind.
If I was watching that on TV, I would have changed the channel.

Thanks for the heads up. I was going to check this out, but if a guy who is CRAZY about astronauts does not get a warm fuzzy from a movie titled "Apollo 18"...I'm gonna have to take a pass:lol

Im looking forward to seeing the module interior scenes and keeping my fingers crossed for everything else.

I dunno; I am of the mind if you're interested enough to wait to download all the ones and zeros to watch it the size of a postage stamp on your computer, get your lard-ass out of the house and go pay the ten bucks or whatever.

Me, it didn't really work for, but I am SATURATED with space stuff. Like I said, I appreciated the Russian lander, but maybe I wasn't the audience. I poop into a ziplok and send it to Kennedy, you know? If there are crazy extras, I'll buy the DVD.

I fell asleep last night at the drive-in during this flick. So uneventful during the parts I did happen to wake and see.
