Could you post a pic of the plaque without the sword on it? What is the hole in the center for???

I cant post pictures(my sword is at another house), but I can tell you about the hole in the middle. There is supposed to be a round wooden piece that goes there that creates some sort of leveled resting place for the protrusion in the middle of the hilt.
