Anyone take apart a MR IX Tricorder? SFX problems!

I am so super pissed and bummed out right now. I just opened up my MR IX Tricorder for the first time in about a month and it lit up beautifully but no sound effects!!! I know there arent many out there, but has anyone had this problem? Anyone open these suckers up and know how I might fix it?

scratch that... I put in new batteries and it did the trick. Not sure why that would be the problem because the lights still had a ton of juice in em, but simple solutions work for me. Minor freak out... Paid a small fortune for the damn thing, I at least want it to work!

I've had the same problem with other props that have light and sound. It appears that the speakers require more juice than the lights, so the sound will stop working before the lights when the batteries start to die.
