I have always wanted a Pulse rifle, but dont want to spend an arm and a leg..

SD studios..amazing but out of range
the new one...800-900 still out of range

so, my question is...

can one be made from a cyma thompson, airsoft spas..with shrouds from a 1:1 maker..matsuo, sd studios..whoever else...

if it can be made, then what would it cost...I saw a busted thompson for 50.00, non working but great body
..

spas for 20.00

what else and how much?

I wish that NERF would make a pulse rifle, 40 watt phased plasma rifle, and just about all the sci-fi weapons.

It can be done for sure. I considered it when building mine but the airsoft shotguns are hella lame. They shoot 3 bb's at a time so I didn't think it would be worth the extra work and expense for the wimpy payoff.

I built mine when the first PR airsoft kit came on the market, it broke my heart to cut up the TM Thompson to put in it. I wish they would have had the cheap Cybergun version then. The whole thing cost me a fortune and the launcher doesn't even rack.

The answer is yes but the airsoft Spas is a little smaller than the actual gun. The hardest part is going to be the shrouds. Try a WTB in the JY.

I'm currently building one using a cybergun Thompson, matsuo shrouds, stock and barrel vent, real spas cage and real deactivated shotgun. It has cost me quite alot so far. As far as budget pulse rifles go, your best bet is the G&P kit (if you can find one), but that will still run you about $600 or more with the Thompson and it does not have a working shotgun. The other budget option is a solid resin kit such as Spat's spulse rifle. This is the cheapest option, but no moving parts.

I am not looking for a shooting version, just movable parts..it should be able to rack a grenade, and pull the trigger to get the counter to work..plus a removable clip..thats it really..

can it be done for under 400?

I previously had a static resin one..and am in no rush to get one now..other priorities...

These are estimates based on my searchings during my build.

Broken Cyma Thompson - $50
Metal barrel vent and Stock - between $75 and $150
Used Shroud Kit - maybe $150ish
Counter - Static $30 working $100ish
Spas/Grenade Launceher - this is the tough one especially if you want it to rack. I would guess a resin setup between $150 and $300 if you can find a used one.
Pistol grip - $15?

Good Luck

JFT...I also cut up a TM M1A1 and bought the cheap Cybergun version when it came out :unsure

You know, cutting up the Thompson stinks a little, but having a full auto bb firing pulse rifle, well I don't regret that move one little bit :)

If you want the grenade launcher to rack, contact Matsuo. I recently picked up a resin 870 Remington from him. While it won't make the proper "shotgun" sound, it will slide back and forth.

Plus, Matt's work is incredible. Don't think it was too much, either. I don't remember for certain but think it was under $100.

I'd always wondered where people put the TM Thompson batteries to run it. DO people hide it in the SPAS cage? And just have a sliding pump handle?

I'm working on my PR right now using a combination of mostly Matsuo parts, a cybergun M1A1, G&P Shrouds and assorted parts, and a Matsuo SPAS cage with molded in 870 receiver. The 870 internals (barrel, mag tube, slide rod, 3 bolt parts, trigger assembly) are all cast individually so it makes a nice satisfying racking sound despite being resin.

The shotgun mag tube was solid resin so I took it to work and milled it out hollow to hold the airsoft battery. There's a new style LiPo battery that is just under 6" long and just under 3/4" thick. When I'm finished, I should be able to fire the airsoft, rack the SPAS/Grenade launcher (not chambering anything) and have the battery stored inside the mag tube.

The G&P kit comes with a hollow SPAS cage that has grooves to hold the battery in the bottom of the cage. The racking mechanism consists of a metal tube that simply slides back and forward over a faux shell in the ejection port.

I have an Icons Pulse rifle.

Pretty but all static.

if you need pics or measurements, let me know.

The LED doesnt light up does it??

Tom
