Anyone here order the repro Kirk Chair - and will it be worth it?

I'm on the fence, but I'm thinking about picking one up. I was wondering if anyone here is working on the repros or if there is a general feeling about if this 3g baby is worth it.

If I knew of any two for one deals I would definitely help you out Steve - as long as we had the understanding that mine would be from the Enterprise and yours was from the Defiant.:lol

I have a visual of Kirk's chair sitting in someone's living room, the control switches hooked up to the lighting and entertainment center, a well-dressed man sitting and relaxed, pipe in mouth, puffing away while listening to classical music.

I must see this before I die. If any of you buy one of these, please take a photo.

If you include your time / labor you couldn't build one for 1/2 the price..............Many hours involved to get it looking good!
I have that much in time alone!! If not more!! :cry

That's what I was thinking. With all the do dads and lights we are talking about a pretty lengthy build - top that with getting the whole thing to look just right. I'm pretty sure I'm getting one - but I would love to hear some feedback on these things first. I don't want to end up in a MR Enterprise or even worse an UNOBTANIUM Enterprise situation.

I hear that ......I have yet to see one in person, or a real good photo of one.....the controls are not too accurate from the pix!!?? I see you posted a pic of my chair! :thumbsup If anyone has seen one in person I too would be interested to hear about it as well.............check out NewForcecomics.com

I've not been too impressed with the one pictured here. Much happier with my (TOSPhaser and MicDavis assisted) home built model.

However, Roddenberry.com is now selling one built by HMS Productions. That one looks the part. Price, of course, reflects that issue.
