anyone heard of company Museum Replicas?

Well, if the finished product is of any quality at all, this'll be fun for budget minded collectors. I wonder what else they might bust out?

Those look cool for the price, although the Luke looks "off" to me. I wonder if they'll be releasing the other versions as well.

Actually since its the Luke ROTJ stunt saber it looks pretty good...dont know if the finished product will be that good though

They're metallized resin sabers. The item descriptions say so.
They look kinda funky to me but still, might not be bad if they get some more sabers in the lineup.
They're doing full costumes too.
edit: eh, if the sabers look like the pics in the second link, they won't be half bad. I just think the pics on their site look funky.

Huh.. lower end cheaper belt hanger sabers... exactly what ive been wanting from a repo company for years... Well done EFX.

It bombed because they flooded the market with CEs and LEs, and the price difference wasn't enough. The CE's debuted for almost 200 bucks, which is absurd. They also switched from lightweight resin to heavy cast metal, which made them ineffictive belt hangers. The design was also unpopular. If they had done a resin Obi-wan TPM for under a hundred bucks, the geeks would have crashed the whole friggin' internet getting onboard to buy those puppies. Hint hint, EFX.

So, unofficial wishlist for me of under $100 sabers:
1. THE COUNCIL SABERS! Who do we have to kill to finally get these, fer crissakes?!
2. Dooku
3. Windu
4. Obi-wan TPM
5. Battle damaged Maul

You listening, EFX gurus? That'd be like an automatic grand of my money anyway. Plated resin (not just chrome every time, but some other finishes, brushed nickel sometimes, but also just painted resin in some cases, like the real council sabers primarily were) and done carefully would sell bajillions of units.

Heh. I said "units."

I think the above post should be the basis for a petition to EFX. I concur 100%!

No, I don't, because I could never afford them, for one, and I've never been satisfied with the finish on any fanmade saber. I've purchased a number of other fanmades over the years and never ultimately felt they matched the quality of MR's. Let's get a good, seamless, durably painted resin set with metal detailing. I'd buy every damn one, and I know a ton of other people would too. Make a nice shadowbox, hang them on the wall...delicious.

Will EFX dude chime in? Will others raise a noise about a Dooku or a Windu or and Obi TPM? Can we show them that there's a market for these products? Post if you agree, and would honestly buy these if availiable and well crafted at the under $100 price point. Lots of posts lets them know what we want. Let's make this thread 50 pages long.

As I said, at that price, licenced repros are suddenly within reach for me. Ive always lived on a low budget, and my only MR is a .45 mini. But I can swing 100 bucks every few months to get something like these. Its not a FAST collection, but its AVAILABLE. Just dont make them "OH LIMITED GET IT NAO!!!", and Ill be able to.

Just dont make them "OH LIMITED GET IT NAO!!!"

Yeah, that would suck. Limited edition versions would defeat the budget pricepoint. The usual suspects will jump right on 'em and the rest of us, who are either of limited means or slow, will be left out in the cold.

Like I said in the other thread on the subject, here's hoping for an Obi ANH. In the mean time, I might be persuaded to get that Luke ROTJ (looks like a "clean" v2).
