Another Star Ship

When I was looking at the calender of my office, it was a picture of a big rock in Australia. It looks like a star ship to me. ;D Then I started to build another star ship.

I cut up some acrylic resin plate and sheet plastic.

The size is just 2 feet long.

Last year I bought a box of acrylic resin for about $25.00

I didn't draw any plan for this. ;D I've just fit the sheet plastic and cut and glue.
The upper part of the hull is almost OK.

OK, then I made some parts for detailing.

I have been thinking how do I make a lot of parts something like used on Super Star Destroyer in a easy way.

Then I tried this...

Just stack the sheet plastic

And using my power saw to make a many grooves.

Also, for the clear acrylic plates for tiny window lights.

And paint it (May be silver would be better than black :p) and sand the surface to remove the paint on the window away.

Excellent so far. I love the idea of the stacked sheet plastic.

Looking forward to see this progress.

Thank you very much for looking Oggy-san.
The idea is came out from my wooden craft experiences. I used that way when I make a mortise and I've just happened to remember that.

Excellent work, and a great technique!

Thank you very much !!

Another scratch build from Yuumi? Color me interested.

Thank you very much for looking Ruddiger-san.
It may take a long tome to be finished but any of your further comment would be nice to hear.

Katsu, you are crazy. Cant wait to see this one. Looks cool so far.

Thank you very much Al-san. There might be a lot of problem to be solved
but I'm enjoying this build.

Katsu-san, there you go again with another good looking scratch build. Great job so far.

Thank you very much Randy-san.
I hope you enjoy my build and give me any comment you feel.

I will be eagerly following this. Eagerly, I say!

Thank you very much Otter-san !! I will add a tower in the center of the hull and bulky box structure on the aft underside. So it will be looking like a sphinx or something. I wanted to put some archaeological taste there.

Progress of 10 hours.

Basic structure of lower hull.

I've used a power plane to add an angle to a cut edges.

Stared to detailing with that scored plates.

Not to be too busy, I added some space and kit parts to take a rhythm.

Katsu-San, your builds are the best examples of original builds I have seen in a long time, and great tutorials in scratch building, not only in terms of technique but also regarding the creative design process. Thank you for sharing the build progress with us!
