Another Star Ship

Katsu-san

"How about laying some transportation tube (tram line?) and tram station here in this place? "

This is a genius idea, with so much detail potential, brilliant stuff my friend.

You could make a small shuttle pad and some little shuttles so then the people landing on the ship could than take the transportation tube to other areas of the ship
The possiblities are end less.
Can't wait to see which direction you take this. :popcorn

I have been following your build from the start. The details are fantastic. The full side view picture made me think that this would be a space yacht.
:thumbsup

Incredible work Katsu. Everytime you add something new, I cannot believe how you create such great detail.:thumbsup

Thank you very much, Caveneau-san.
I have been wondering so long time how I build this part.
It was a difficult delivery this time until the idea popped out and could drew some sketches.

A ship this big needs somewhere for its teenagers to go. ;)

Superb craftsmanship and creativity as usual!

Thanks for looking. altername-san!:lol

Thanks for the comment Gag-san.

Now I remember something. I've seen my daughter playing the Xbox game 'Dead Space' a few years ago. That was a really terrifying game. :confused In that game, the star ship USG Ishimura has a tram lines to move inside the ship. I thought it's interesting.

Thank you very much for keep looking my build, Rick-san.
Yeah, you can say that! I wanted to build the ship that each person who look at her can expand their own imagination freely.

Thank you very much my friends!

Still amazed at the detail and work going into this build.
Keep up the great imagination. It is shaping up well.

Some detailing for the promenade deck.

Arcade module with a lot of fiber optic.

Cut up a slit on the floor plate.

And slide the bunch of FO through the slit.

At last I could fix the the total balance and proportion of this ship and this is almost the last part that
I could build before painting. From now on, I have to plan the paint scheme.

I love to hear your comment.

Thanks for looking.

Beautiful, as always, Katsu-San. I am happy to see your post. I feared for you, with the earthquake I heard about on the news. I'm glad you are OK.
As small as the actual model is, and with all the detail you have put into it, I would recommend using a two-layer azteking paint-scheme. There are two reasons for that:
1. It would look spectacular.
2. It would help to create the perspective of a large ship. (I read an article about the construction of the Enterprise-A for STTMP, and it said that the azteking was designed intentionally for that purpose.
As far as colors go, if it were my ship, I would avoid any paint-schemes that follow a white or grey scale. With all the Star Trek and Battle-star Galactica models out there it is a bit over-done. A blue-grey would work, I think, but I see your ship in rust-tones; reds and oranges...

I think it would give her a lineage... a sense of grandeur and age. I know that is a lot of ideas, but I have been following you since the beginning, and she has grown on me! :D Whatever you come up with will be fantastic, but there are my 2 cents.

Thanks for the comment Cadeus-san and Tom-san.

Thanks for the pics.
The brownish color is one of the option for this ship fron the beginning and highly possible for now. It make it looks like an ancient pyramid of Maya or something. It's very attractive for me.

Nice. Great work on the fiber optics. I wouldn’t have the patience to do all that fine detail work.

I think that even if you go with a grey scale ship adding color to it greatly enhanses the look of it.
This picture is a ship used in the game called traveler called the Azhanti high Lightning.
I am sure whatever color scheme you use it will look great.

I AM the man with less patience and that's why I got the idea of that fiber optic bed and circle saw scored plates.:lol

Hey! that's the cool pic and thanks for the advice mobius-san!!
My minds are wondering again:confused

Metallic pearl white with subtle striping would be fantastic.

It doesn't look like an old frigate or transport to me, it looks more Elegant Galactic cruiser.

But then again, with the proper application of weapons, you could go flat black dreadnaught evil scourge of the galaxy.

Thanks Mikee-san.

All the paint scheme you gave me so far are really attractive for me and make me want to try every one of them. At this moment, I have brownish one, standard white or gray with bold stripes, flat white and your metallic pearl white with subtle striping which is my favorite and I did similar on the Tempest.

More than that, I'm so happy and appreciated that many of you are interested in my model and paint scheme. I'm a lucky guy that I can share the moment like this with you.

Looking good Katsu, is all okay with you over there with the recent earth quake?

Thank you Ray-san.
We are all fine and functioning :lol
That was happened at a hundred mile away but no one got hurt or injured this time.
Thank you again for your kind words.

Katsu-san, where did you pick up the fiber optic cable? Also the scrap plastic? I checked a few places for companies that deal with plastic and no one wants to part with their scrap :lol

Hi! mikee-san,

There are many internet shop mainly dealing acrylic resin or sheet
plastic for hobby here in Japan.

ƒAƒNƒŠƒ‹’[ÞiŠiˆÀ¬•ДÂj‚Í‚´‚¢

Above is one of the shop I usually buy. They are regularly selling those
scrap acrylic. You can't order the sizes and color. You can only choose
the range of thickness. One is 2mm - 5mm and the other one is 8mm - 15mm.
Most of them are clear and some black, white and smoke blown.
They pack up appropriate mix of those and ship out. You can buy them 25
pounds of boxful of these for about $20-$25.

For the optic fiber, I'm using the Eska of Mitsubishi-Rayon Co.
I usually buy at net shop here. This is a kind of radio shack.
y‹¤—§ƒGƒŒƒVƒ‡ƒbƒvzeleshop.jp ¤•iŒŸõF“dŽq•”•i,”¼“±‘Ì,ƒLƒbƒg‚Ì’ÊM”Ì”„
I mainly use 0.25mm/400m and 0.5mm/100m at about $15-$16.

Once you order, you can get them right next day.

I might have to say that Japan is a kind of place you can obtain those
things easily and quickly. But I believe you can find the same shop in UK.

Been following this thread all along, it's about time I said...WAY TO GO! :)

I'm thanking you always, Treadwell-san!!

katsu.
