Decided to stop on my 1/48 X-wing build and do something larger , while I heal up from my surgery . So I can up on the Bandai R2D2 and BB8 .I went with a sand / desert base, But once fished , I stop at a comic book store and found a storm trooper that I like . I know that you can buy Bandai storm troops , which I have coming for a later build .After I give this to my buddy I will finish my X-Wing build. Here are some pics the the R2 BB8 build , which I called ( I'm talking to you) referring to R2 ignoring the trooper!

In the picture the trooper has not been modified, backpack and mg34 but stage to seeing I like the idea.

So on R2 I found that Tamiya TS-15 blue was ok so thats what I used .Both the R2 and BB8 are straight forward builds

These are picks of the Strom trooper modified backpack , which I made a new antenna and its base , where I ran a hose from a two stroke model gp motorcycle kit to its upper cylinder head that I used for a power converter.

This looks really great, you've done a great job on that backpack. But it might have a better audience in the General Modelling forum.
