ANH Obi-Wan Transistor button switch?

Ive serached with no luck:

Im doing a ANH obi-wan build, and dont want to use the bubble strip as a switch...with the two transistor greeblies on the side I figure thats the perfect spot. Is there a mock greeblie that is actually a switch? I dont mean like the SF redeemer, but something that will match a proper greeblie on the other side, but houses a switch in some way.

If not open to ideas on where to put the activation...the graflex clamp is too tight on this hilt to put a switch in it.

Thanks in advance!

Shameem recently put together a Korbanth Obi-Wan which uses the transistors as activation switches. I don't know if these switches are included in Korbanth's run of the saber or if Shameem made them himself. You can try contacting him to see.

Hey Djblingbling1, there are a few ways that I've seen the transistors used as switches. Slothfurnace made a pendulum arm beneath the transistor whose arm bumped a tactile switch on either side, so effectively a 2-for-1 switch. Mad GENIUS within... http://www.slothfurnace.com/sabers/ANHObiReveal_05.html

Here's another Slothfurnace switch idea... http://www.slothfurnace.com/sabers/ANHObi_04.html

Want to hide a recharge port, yep, he's done that too... http://www.slothfurnace.com/sabers/ANHObi_06.html

I've seen, but can't seem to find in my Lightsaber library, other saber builders use a switch like this one.... http://www.digikey.com/product-deta...itch-switches/2-1825910-7/450-1642-ND/1632528 poked up through the hole with a hollowed out transistor glued in place on it's tip like a cap.

Seek inspiration from these saber builders as well: Roland Palotai aka ROLightsaber, Howard S Watts aka HSWatts, Lethal Crystal aka Watchmaker Lam aka , and Yoda at FX-Sabers.com.

Good Luck on your switch! Off to find that elusive photo I seem to have misplaced.

Awesome so far!

cjchiu - The korbanth comes with the switches setup there

Ridire - Those look great but are probably a bit out of my depth. I have a ton of those momentary switches, the trick is finding a ring to hold it in place on the inside...running into that issue with my custom v2 build. That might be the way to go though...I swear google led me to a photo of a transitor with threads that were hollowed out to allow a switch but now I cant find it.

I used larger transistors. I drilled a hole in the clamp for each one and mounted them from the inside with a layer of packing tape. The hole rims are hidden by the washers. Inside, there is a small PCB with microswitches (scavenged), that the transistor-bottoms push onto. I never connected them to anything though, and it is a little bit rattly.
