ANGELA Asgard's Assasin FULL ARMOR HELP!

Well, as the title of the thread I'd like do make Angela new armor (at least new for me since in Italy there are only two issue of the comic), but I can't decide on the material to use to make it. I thought about silicone but it would be too expensive and uncomfortable since latex isn't transpirant and I could die in there. I usually use Eva foam but I don't think it could give the armor that kind of flexibility and it will look too rigid.... So, what do I do?

I am currently making Angela Armor for my wife.
I am making it out of Leather. (November is 50% off leather at Tandy Leather)
I have the shoulder piece, arm and chest piece all partially completed.

I bought 8oz leather, cut it with tin snips, wet formed it, riveted it together, and stained it white.


I tested hardening the leather but in the end just used 8oz leather, it is stiff enough. I am still playing with hardening, tried water hardening, and ammonia hardening and just ordered some bees wax to try wax hardening.

I've found that water hardening shrinks the leather a little bit, so check your sizing. If you use water do it at a lower temp...more uniformity. A higher temp is quicker, but less uniform hardening on the whole piece of leather.

I'm not sure what you have access to in Italy, but you could use a silver lycra bodysuit for material. That's pretty flexible.

Thick EVA foam would be too rigid for the skin-tight portions of the costume, but 2mm EVA craft foam is thin and flexible and gives a slightly thicker look over using cloth.

I've also seen a combination of the two. Use glue or spray adhesive and stick the silver lycra over the top of it to create some thickness, but still use the thinner foam for flexibility.
