Cosplay, costume. prop. set piece, one man parade float, battle tank. I'm not sure what to call it anymore. I started this after Galactus. It took me almost 2 years to complete. And is anything ever really done?

This whole project started with because of this photo. It just looked so darned cool!

I scaled it off a statue. I attempted to keep it with ADA specs, so I could access elevators. but, that didn't really work out real well. The whole thing can be broken down. Every piece can be carried by one person.

It all started by building a metal frame with casters. I calculated the size from a short walking stride, thinking I could push it around from the inside. Everything sort of scaled up after that.

After that, I built wood frame work and covered it in fiberglass. A 2 part expanding foam was used as an "armature" for the face, covered it in Evercoat Rage then sculpted out of a medium plasticene clay. I made a mold and a swing set and slush cast the face out of a two part resin. Initially, the face worried me the most as I have never sculpted anything more than details into models. I'm pretty happy with it tho.I had also wanted to use a more rubbery / latex medium for the face but wanted to push forward rather than spend more time on research and materials. The face took me about 6 weeks from start to finish as it is.

In fact the whole thing had elements that I left off just so I could finish. Sort of sad but we accomplished my goal with it.

The sanding and smoothing was the real issue. It took my wife and I a couple of months to get it ready to paint. We also worked on the A.I.M. agents during this period.

The arms and legs are mannequin parts. The hand holding the cube was cast from my wife's hand. The hand on the joystick is one of the wooden sculpture model poseable hands.

The yellow was painted using a urethane 2 part system. I used some other styles of paint on the face, headband and backpack.

The hair was purchased from a company called NFT. I did some research on where people buy fur for wookie costumes and this place came up.

There is an Ipad in the back with a looping movie graphic sort of like a life support system idea. And a pile of LED's that blink using boards I purchased at the local train hobby store. There is a plasma disk in the center of the forehead that sadly was not turned on for most of the pictures.

A friend agreed to transport it to San Diego. He also wrote the skit, did the voices and built the pistols and rocket launcher we carried around. I did the painting on the weapons and helmets.

I'm really pleased with the horde of A.I.M. agents. Even if we can't drag MODOK to future shows, I am hoping to do more A.I.M. Initially I had to recruit family members and people who don't normally cosplay. (C'mon! It'll be great fun!)

There are probably thousands of details I am forgetting, but I am more than happy to answer any questions! Thanks for checking it out!
